I recently visited Udipi Palace and had a pretty decent experience. The food was solid overall, and their lunch menu offered good value for the price. The flavors were not bad—nothing extraordinary, but definitely enjoyable enough.
It’s a good place to visit if you’re in the mood for a comforting South Indian meal. Overall, a decent spot for a reasonably priced and satisfying lunch.

We had a great experience here. The food was fresh and tasty. The gobi Manchurian was my favorite, it was crispy and well coated, the sauce was flavorful yet subtle. The dosa and thali were authentic and fresh and full of flavor. The staff were so helpful and just so kind. Felt taken care of . Highly recommend and will be going again.

I was expecting to be disappointed because of the reviews, but the Mysore Royal Thali (ordered 1 for the two of us, as we suspected, it was a big meal for one of us to finish) was AMAZING and so tasty! I felt homesick and came here so I could have authentic South Indian food, and I got it. No complaints!! Will deffo come here again!

Very attentive staff, delicious food, dosa was amazing, the sada (plain) dosa, the paper dosa and the vada dosa, I had a rosewater and ice-cream dessert that tasted so good I forgot to take a photo.

We tried the Madras Lunch, which included Idli, Vada, and Dosa. The Onion Rava Masala Dosa and Paper Masala Dosa were both tasty, and the portions were generous. However, the sambar and coconut chutney were just okay and didn’t seem fresh. We finished our meal with the South Indian coffee which was absolutely delicious!
The service was attentive since we were the only customers. Unfortunately, the atmosphere and ambiance fell short. The glasses, water jar, floors, and bathrooms were dirty, which was off-putting.
While I understand the restaurant’s age, the dining experience didn’t impress me. Next time I crave dosa or South Indian food, I’ll likely explore other options.

Was looking for a vegetarian restaurant specifically South Indian food as my toddlers love dosa. Ordered dosa and Idli, not at all good. Coconut chatuny and sambhar both were not good. Dosa was very thik hai masala also not good. Idly, we left the as is after tasting.
I will definitely avoid next time however we felt like restaurant is run by senior people so could go to support.

Idk what to even say, the best thing here is south Indian but that also was mediocre. Rest, like veg lolipop is not even similar to flavourful or Indian cuisine.

Was visiting Chicago and was desperately looking and craving for a South Indian meal or anything south Indian (Vegetarian) and pulling this place on the map was super exciting just thinking about savoring the food.. went in and found the place was deserted except for couple tables occupied we were hungry so didn’t dare to look for another place and go there so we ordered a full meal with roti, rice rasam and the sides papad, curd, palak etc.. didn’t look appetizing taste was ok not great and I ordered Dal Makhini ( seriously right lol.. South Indian restaurant and Dal Makhini) but I didn’t find anything that impressed me ( non fried items) so went with Dal Makhini, it was not great but was ok.. could survive with that food.. felt food there was a little overpriced for the quality of food.. this is my honest opinion with 1 visit and 1 meal I don’t want to misrepresent anything here but do want to share my personal feedback.. my parents felt the same too.. service was ok. Thinking about it maybe I over expected from this place because of the name of the restaurant lol..
