Our server, Max, was friendly and knowledgeable and made great recommendations throughout the evening. After dinner, he suggested an espresso martini and made it himself it ended up being a highlight of the night. I’ve traveled extensively and had espresso martinis in many places, and this one stood out for its balance and smoothness.
From the table setup to the attention to detail, everything felt intentional and well cared for. A great choice for a relaxed but refined dinner, and a place we’d confidently recommend to visitors and locals alike.
The food was thoughtfully prepared with clean flavors and nice presentation, and the pacing of the meal felt very natural. Nothing was rushed, and nothing sat too long.
Our server, Max, was professional and attentive throughout the night, checking in at the right moments and making sure everything flowed smoothly. Service like that makes a noticeable difference in the overall experience.
Azur is a great choice for a quieter, refined dinner where quality and atmosphere matter. We’d definitely return.
One female server repeatedly told us she would “check with the supervisor,” yet nothing happened and we eventually had to ask the supervisor ourselves to get any resolution. That left us feeling ignored and misled.
To make matters worse, the gratuity was not optional. A 21% gratuity was automatically added on the post-tax total, which was unexpected and not communicated clearly to us in advance. We are happy to tip for good service, but being forced into a high gratuity after such poor service felt unfair.
Overall, we left frustrated and would not recommend this place based on our experience
Got to the place 10 minutes before our 6:30 reservation and sat within one minute of arrival. Ordered about five minutes and got bread about 15 minutes later. The orange olive oil was tasty but when I inquired as to what it was, we were told it was olive oil with “stuff” in it. I did see something floating in it but it may have been a flake of rosemary. Fast forward 35 minutes and we were waiting on a 50 minute ticket time. I ask to see the manager, someone comes over to our table, we inform him that our food is running 50 minutes, and he explains that the rack of lamb that was ordered takes 20-25 minutes to properly cook. I said that it’s been 50 minutes, he explains again that it takes 20-25 minutes to cook, and he goes to check on our food. There was a family that was sat 15 minutes after us and then they received their entrees. We had had it by that point, got up to leave, and saw the person who claimed to be the manager bringing more entrees to the family.
The food looked good at the other table, so I can’t write about how the food is. Maybe they were having an off night.
The food we ate was nothing short of extraordinary. Rack of lamb, charred octopus, pear date gorgonzola frisee salad, and a perfect malbec.
Service was attentive and beautifully paced. Max and Claudia were delightful.
There’s a ton of great food in Key West for sure, but this is truely a gastronomic experience.
