We visited a month back for anniversary and was blown away by the whole experience. The way they personalised everything was just amazing. We were there for over 2 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. Ordered a bunch of different things and everything was well made and beautifully presented. Only feedback I have is that beef tartare felt a little dry, maybe because egg yolk wasn’t runny enough. Everything else from start to finish was great. If you are celebrating something special you won’t find many places better than this. Highly recommended

This was an amazing experience for our anniversary! The ambiance was perfect for setting the mood. Our server did an exceptional job; we were especially impressed with her knowledge of information about the food and drinks that were presented. The meal itself was exquisite; worth every penny. We highly recommend anyone who truly appreciates fine dining and top quality to come here and see firsthand how well they do it. Girlfriend is a foodie. Me, not so much. But from the very “get-go” the service was excellent. They give plenty of information and help without going overboard. The riverfront view was beautiful and the atmosphere was inferior to none. Ill base the rest of the feedback on my lady’s responses. From the pumpkin duck confit, to the amuse-bouche goat cheese thing, the salad, the shellfish entre and then the final touch of the complementary dessert of chocolate mousse, the meal couldnt have been more perfect! The food overall, left her glowing with enjoyment like a child in a brand new toy store. I couldnt have chosen a better place nor could there have been a place on the planet that could’ve sold her on the ability of the house chef(s)/cooks.
The staff continuously took care of us without us feeling intruded upon. I couldn’t have been more pleased! We both would recommend this place to anyone who loves food, great service and atmosphere. Thank you to everyone at Chez François

The service and dessert were good. The food, however, didn’t have any special flavors and didn’t offer a new taste experience! It felt like they focused on quantity instead of quality.
We had a reservation but were seated at a glass table without a white tablecloth, in a much less pleasant area. I think there shouldn’t be such a big difference between the two areas of the resturant, especially when you have a reservation.

Thank you for your detailed response. I double-checked the reservation process on your website, and there was no option to select the Main Dining Room vs. Touché!

Turning 38 at Chez François in Vermilion, Ohio, made me briefly forget that birthdays on this side of 35 start to blur into one long existential sigh. But this place! Yes, this place made me feel incandescent again. From the personalized menus to a birthday card signed by the staff (think real ink-on-paper signature, not the generic “Happy Birthday!” printed on a receipt), every detail screamed thoughtful. It’s all in the details and they executed here.

The ambiance? Impeccable staff, waterfront views magically free of midges dive-bombing my entrée and not bird in sight to test my reflexes.

Now, the food, unapologetically divine! Each dish was decadent, like France decided to set up shop on Lake Erie. So, Merci, Chez François, for giving me a 38th year kickoff that didn’t feel like another lap around the sun, but like launching into a brand-new orbit. Thank you so much!

This has been our anniversary spot for the last 4 years, and every time is a gem. We ate outside at Touché for the first three years, and went inside this last year. Both experiences were phenomenal and always felt the servers were knowledgeable, personable, and very competent. The food is always absolutely incredible. When they say seafood pasta, they mean heaps of fresh, light massive pieces. Well balanced, amazing flavors. We’ve never had anything we’ve been disappointed in. Be prepared to pay for this level of experience though. Hence we only go once a year.

What a great night! Last minute we booked a reservation for dinner on the patio. Wonderful views. Patio menu lacked a few of their signature dishes like Beef Wellington and Bananas Foster. The service was great. Exactly what you expect from a fine dining establishment. Dress code was more casual than inside – no suit coats guys!

Always wanted to try this place when we visit Vermilion. Finally made reservations here with a view of the Vermilion River from their patio. Beautiful evening, with excellent service and food. I had the lobster bisque to start, then the lobster ravioli for main course. Simply the best. We will be back!

We dined here to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a great time! We shared the lobster bisque, corn soup, and lobster ravioli to start. We both had the beef Wellington as our entree. It was perfectly cooked and delicious! We have no complaints about the food. We can’t wait to come back and try more items on the menu. Susie was our waitress and was incredible, providing both excellent food recommendations as well as genuine conversation. We loved her – She is amazing!!

My wife and I ate here for our anniversary dinner. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable on the drinks and food menu and specific ingredients and how the flavors come together. Our server did great offering suggestions that were very tasty.

We sat outside by the water on a nice sunny day. Loved that atmosphere and vibe. Only reason I slightly downgraded atmosphere was because of the amount of flys while you’re trying to eat.

Big drink menu with lots of good sounding drinks. Our waiter also suggested a wine and brought one for us to sample, to which we enjoyed and ordered a glass of it later. Large menu with mostly seafood options. I’m not a big seafood eater, but was easily able to find some menu items without seafood if you also aren’t into fish.

They started out by providing us a complimentary app, maybe because it was our anniversary. Not something I’d typically order but was very flavorful and good. Apps mostly have seafood in them, and I was adventurous and tried the lobster ravioli. Very impressive flavors.

For dinner, I ordered the beef Wellington and my wife got a veal dish with scallops. Well prepared, fresh, with good flavoring. My only constructive criticism on the food would be recommending more seasoning on the fillet.

We opted not to order a dessert because we were full but our waiter brought out a complimentary cherry chocolate moose because of the anniversary celebration.

Portion sizes are smaller and the dishes are pricey, but you are getting top tier food if you’re celebrating anything special. Staff takes there time which won’t rush you. Gives you time between each and every course. If you do drinks, apps, and entry, you’ll probably be there for 2 hours.

I would recommend them for special occasions!
