Went here a couple of days ago and it was amazing. Barely had the first bite and told my partner we had to come back. They have a great selection, their premium ramen bowls even include filet mignon as an option. I had the tonkotsu ramen with pork belly which soaked up the broth perfectly. The music is also great here and adds to the vibe.

Pros:
They have parking, great.
Cons:
-Their Ramen bowls have gotten noticeably smaller.
-If you specialize in Ramen (hot liquid), then make sure your tables aren’t uneven. I told the employee but he didn’t know what to do, so I took my napkin and wedged it under to even it out.
-At one point we were the only ones there, and it still took almost 10 minutes to get attended to.
-Your menus are printed horribly! You can’t read the descriptions (look at my pics, squint, there are words under those titles, I swear).
-Food took almost 15 minutes to come out (at this point we were one of 2 couples there)
-One wall is under construction, which is fine, but at least pick up your screws. I found one next to us on the counter, and saw a few more in the distance.
-The music, oh lord the music. If you don’t have a subscription service, don’t play anything. Or throw a CD on repeat. Having one super loud vulgar song followed by 3-4 commercials (no exaggeration, we counted each time) is painful.
-Most chairs are small benches, with no backs, so you have no where to place your jacket or purses/backpacks.
Conclusion:
This location is bad bad bad. Chinatown is great. The Belmont location would screw some stuff up, (i.e. tons of wasabi on a cat rice) but they were mostly good. Hyde Park, solid.

Just tried this spot and ordered the 10th Anniversary Ramen — wow, absolutely delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, noodles perfectly cooked, and every bite hit the spot. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

Their vegetarian Kinoko mushroom ramen is really good! Highly recommend. Also, if you can get to try the Anniversary one – also really tasty!
Only reason I give them 4 stars is because they jumped on the wagon with the gloves. No serious chefs/cooks or staff wears gloves. This has been proven to be less hygienic, as people just keep handling multiple things with the same set. If Michelin star restaurants don’t use gloves – you don’t need them, it’s just a social media nonsense. ♂️

This place was really good, chill relaxed and they just re-opened. The curry broth was outstanding with a great lil bite to it. Def get anything with pork in it as well. I love spicy as well and the levels 1-4 was spicy and flavorful! 1 was perfect and full of pepper flavor and 4 was a really good kick. Don’t worry if you DONT like spicy get the Miso broth….. So so goood! So stuffed as well giant bowls at an awesome price as well. Recommend!

We just needed a bite but this time we thoroughly enjoyed what we bit off. In a small mall off a busy street we had no trouble parking or getting a table (I hope that changes bc people should be flocking here to try the incredible ramen on other delights. The menu itself was an engaging experience. These are “strings” you’ll want to enjoy time and again.

Incredible customer service. My partner and I called ahead to ask about their 10 year anniversary ramen, as I had once ordered it before for take-out during lunch and it came without the beef rib, and I wanted to make sure that they still had some available. The woman who answered the phone assured me that they still had beef ribs available, and so I then thanked her and told her I would place the order online. She asked me what my name was, as to keep an eye on the order once it came through.
My partner and I were quite indecisive, so we ended up placing the order an hour after the initial call AND my partner decided to go with the tonkatsu pork belly ramen, and we agreed to just share the beef rib that came with my order.
Despite it being quite busy at the restaurant (there were two other people waiting for a take-out order, and there were many patrons dining in), the staff got my order to me before the estimated time it was ready, and once I got home, I was surprised to see they had packed two beef short ribs; they had remembered my phone call from earlier and threw in an extra one, free of charge.
All customer service kudos aside, the food was phenomenal. Ordered the 10 year anniversary ramen, the pork belly tonkatsu black garlic ramen, and a side of boiled pork gyoza. Everything was flavorful, tender, and perfect for a cold winter night. We will definitely be back!

I got there just before close. They took my order and got it ready in good time. It was excellent. Of spice levels 1 through 5, I ordered level 4. Spicy as heck. Don’t mess with this if you can’t handle spicy foods. If you can, by all means give this a shot. Find a level that’s good for you and get your order in. I enjoyed my meal at Strings.
