I have ordered from here multiple times through DoorDash and half the time they make my food wrong. This time I ordered a triple cheeseburger plain with no cheese and a large fry and the triple cheeseburger came with EVERYTHING on it and the fry was half empty. This is ridiculous and they are lucky I’m not allergic to any of the stuff they left on the burger because this could be dangerous for someone. I have even had this issue when going through the drive thru. I shouldn’t have to check my food immediately after leaving to make sure they didn’t mess it up.

Dishonest and discourteous employees
Edited to add: thanks for the super helpful reply, McDonalds. I’ve already reached out (Case Number: 35215447) with no response from local management, hence this review.
1. Employees at the windows did not talk to me: After taking my order, neither the employee at window 1 nor the employee at window 2 said anything to me during our entire interaction.
2. After I paid and my card was handed back to me (without saying one word), the employee turned around and walked away without providing a receipt. I needed the receipt so I could expense the meal to my employer.
3. Since the first employee had walked away from the window, I asked the employee at the 2nd window for the receipt; they stepped away and came back to hand me a receipt (without saying one word).
4. When I got home I discovered that I had NOT been given my receipt which was over $12.00. Rather, I was given a receipt for a discounted order of fries which was less than $2.00. In addition to the $ discrepancy, the order number on the receipt did not match the order number on the bag of food. This absolutely seems intentional.
I contacted corporate support who responded the following business day stating they were forwarding the information to the local manager to address.
I have not been contacted by the local manager.

I get it, it’s a McDonald’s, but they squish the food so badly in the bags it’s unbelievable. They don’t close the bags either and stuff them so full they can’t be closed (but rip) rather than adding one additional bag to your order. I am giving 5 stars for service for one specific team member (don’t know if he still works there – this was about a year ago or so): as I was approaching the McDonald’s another driver started to follow me and harass me and tried to stop me; he followed me through the drive through but went through the second lane and tried to block me off at the window and got out of his car. This one team member tried to tell him to leave me in peace and eventually personally came out of the restaurant to tell the guy to go. I had been terrified and was about to call the police and this one fast food worker comes out and has the guts to tell a crazy stalker guy off – I regret not getting this team member’s name!

We visited the drive-thru at this location on the evening of 11/15/2025 looking for a fast meal due to a rushed schedule. Our total came out to $23.xx, and we noticed the employee speaking to us stated “$32.xx”; a presumed moment of dyslexia or otherwise honest mistake (and it was). The employee that accepted payment ran my credit card, but didn’t offer a receipt before closing the window. I pulled to the next window and asked politely for a receipt. The employee promptly told me, “we don’t have receipts.” I asked again, requesting that she print me one. She closed the window briefly and spoke with a co-worker, then opened the window and said that they can’t print receipts at that location. She then asked me to “hold-on”, asked me what was in my order, then re-entered those items to provide me verbally with what the total of my order. Meanwhile, I checked my credit card app and saw that the total charged was the $23.xx that originally showed on the order screen in the drive-thru. That whole exchange was awkward and unprofessional, and I relay it in this review to describe the situation for the actual offense:
While I was repeating the items in my order to the cashier, and simultaneously checking my credit card app, the employee with whom the cashier had just consulted asked us to hand her the QP burger from our order to “see it.” She then walked halfway out of view around a corner and stopped. We could no longer see the QP box, just the back half of her head and shoulders, but I did clearly see the back of her head dip down as you would with a spitting motion. Just a second later she turned around reclosing the box and returned it to us stating, “It’s okay. It’s fine…” with a pretty unconvincing smile. Why would she ask for food back from an order that had already been handed to the customer? What did she actually do around the corner? I don’t know the 100% honest answer to either of those questions, but I know we will not be visiting any McDonalds restaurant in the Coralville/Iowa City area again. At least not for a long long time.

The fries were great on the evening shift, but the burgers were not as good as the day shift (weekends). The only reason for 4 stars is because of inconsistent food taste or temperature, and a little difference in how the burgers are “put together” between employees working the sandwich line.
Additionally, when did the price of a cheeseburger get so high? Especially considering the burger patty is STILL smaller than the bun .
Overall, THIS McDonald’s is one of THE BEST I’ve been to in years. The food is good. The managers on duty are kind. There’s usually not a long line at the drive thru.
4 out of 5 for this location. I pass two other locations to go to this one. Worth it!

Once again horrible. Order was screwed up AGAIN. This happens almost every time now. Ordered a two cheeseburger meal with no cheese. Get home and see that my burgers don’t have any pickles, no onions, no ketchup, just TONS of mustard and both were smashed and folded over. I will NEVER come back and I live in the neighborhood and used to go allll the time. You’ve lost a customer. You should close. Ten out of 11 times now over the last year you’ve messed up my order. Worked all day, now I have nothing to eat. Thanks a lot. And your prices suck now too. Totally not worth it. Bye FOREVER.

I ordered a Steak, Egg & Cheese Bagel meal with hash browns and a Diet Coke.
What I received:
• A bacon, egg & cheese bagel — not what I ordered
• The bagel was hard and dry
• A hash brown
• A Dr. Pepper instead of Diet Coke
At this point, ordering here feels like playing the lottery. You don’t know what you’ll get in the bag, and more often than not, it’s not what you ordered.
Mistakes happen, but this location consistently gets even the basics wrong — wrong sandwich, wrong drink, poor quality. I shouldn’t have to double-check every item before leaving just to make sure the order matches the receipt.
Frustrating and unreliable.

We were just there in line in drive thru we waited 20 minutes (only cause we were stuck) never once a car in front of us move as there was NO cars in line waiting to pay or get there food. I went in to see what the holdup was and the lady whom I believe was the manager, was very very rude to me didn’t say sorry or nothing just said we got behind.. really 20 minutes. I grew up across the street from there and I know the previous owners are not happy they are rolling in their grave. They always took pride in that McDonald’s and I will never ever go there again!! I will also let everyone I know to do the same.

This used to be one of the best run McDonald’s stores in the state of Iowa as of 2025. It is absolutely the worst drive-through McDonald’s experience you will find anywhere. You’ll never get your food at the window and you’ll be one of five cars sitting in the parking lot, waiting for your food no matter what time of day you go.

Food was cold and tasted old :/
We ordered a double cheeseburger, Big Mac, 2 fries, and two drinks. Cheeseburger was cold and tasted old, my husband said his Big Mac bun was crunchy and cold, fries were barely warm. Couldn’t really eat anything but the fries. Only good thing i guess was the drinks.
They did get our food out right away but probably because it was cold…
