First time here. Nice local establishment. The wait staff was polite and very attentive. Large menu selections. I had the Hendrix Big Burger, Barbeque Sandwich & Fries, my wife had the Chuck Wagon Steak & Fries and an order of Chicken-N- Dumplings & our daughter had the Friday Special of Fried Haddock & Onion Rings. One thing’s for sure, you get a lot of food. Guarantee you will take some home with you. Everything was good! The only one thing that I have to mention, and why I gave the food a rating of “4”, is the Chicken-N-Dumplings was not hot, it came out barely warm. However, I took it home, had it for lunch the next day after heating it up, and it was awesome. The establishment was very nice, it’s aged but pleasant. Plenty of parking ans easy to get to on West Innes St in Salisbury. We will definitely go back! Give it a try, I think you’ll like it.

The atmosphere is really fun with statues and signs. I had the flounder, with fries, and white slaw for dinner. The service is quick and friendly. The food was great. I really like the crushed ice in the soft drinks, and they are quick to give refills. I highly recommend Hendrix BBQ!

The food was 7/10 but I would order everything again and definitely go back. They have a pretty large menu but less meat options than most barbecue places. Philly cheesesteak was great and the hamburger steak was seasoned well and really tender! The prices are extremely reasonable and the young ladies all were attentive and kind. The cozy appearance and friendly service had that family feel and good vibes.

We went to this place this afternoon to get a bit to eat. The service sucked the 1st waitress came to take our order which we weren’t ready. Another waitress was cleaning and asked was we taken care of? She took our order and brought our meal when it was done. Upon paying the bill we asked the cashier (1st waitress) about cake. She mention they only have chocolate cake and then said there was a slice of red velvet cake. Which we purchased. It was a piece of dry up, old cake with the date of 11/17, which was notice until after I got home. Thank God, I didn’t get sick. I will never return to this establishment.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the drive-thru today. From the start, the employee (who took my name) acted as if my presence was a major inconvenience.
The service was not only snappy but felt intentionally difficult. After being very insistent on collecting my payment before handing over the food, the employee then left me waiting for over five minutes while she took other orders. To top it off, when she finally returned with my change, she gave me $16 in one-dollar bills.
There is a clear lack of professionalism and basic customer service here. Being treated like a bother while spending money is unacceptable. I won’t be returning to this location anytime soon.

I like the food here but the last 2 times I’ve been I feel like they have just gave me trash. I just threw it away both times but last night… I spent $30 for an unbeatable meal. See photos for yourself. I could not take it back or call because they closed before I got home. Something in my cheese and my chicken sandwich was cold. Can’t go somewhere too many times. Food should always be cooked completely and I have no idea what was in my cheese maybe turkey?

Another BBQ fail. Nice folks but in no way was that mesquite chicken. 2pc mesquite chicken in BBQ means something like a leg, thigh, wing, etc…not a rubbery half way breaded piece of frozen chicken patty with a bunch of pepper thrown at it. Clearly it is fish special day and everything is fried in same oil. The hushpuppies are probably great but I thought it was a fish nugget the taste was so strong. Additionally, never ever put shredded lettuce (aka side salad) in the same container as hot food! The cheese melted and the lettuce immediately turns to rotten strands of garbage. Not okay! The fries are nice and fluffy and I would say top of the line frozen potato products. The beans are what folks around here are happy with. I feel like all the BBQ folks around here should start a go fund me for funds to go to literally even the worst BBQ joint in Texas to get an idea of what BBQ really is.

This Hendrix Barbeque is accessible from North and Southbound US 52, North and Southbound Interstate 85, East and Westbound US 70 and North and Southbound US 601 using West Innes Street. The restaurant is within walking distance of Catawba College, Livingstone College and the Bob Hefner Veterans Hospital. Sign out front claims the best breakfast in town served here and they don’t disappoint . They serve lunch plate specials daily along with fresh BBQ plates sandwiches and trays. Also made to order burgers, hotdogs and other sandwiches.

Nice and cozy place to eat. Once you enter the restaurant, you are transfer to the good oldes days.. Sort of the 50’ or 60’s era.. The staff are very friendly..
We decided to try it out since it is always packed when we drive by it.. I am only giving it a 3 star because we are vegetarian and they do not have whole lot of selection for vegetarians.. What they have is limited but the experience was great.
If you are a meat lover then this is the place for you. They have plethora of different meat and deals for meat lovers.
The mashed potatoes were blend no taste at all. The pinto beans had bits of pork in it but it was on their vege menu. The rice was blend also. The gravy was clunky like it was not cooked well and it smelled like it was old or from 4 or 5 days ago. Not fresh at all.
The only thing we liked was the hush puppies, fries, and the rolls..

Great place to eat, any time of the day. The food is amazing and always good. Their burgers and fries are some of the best in town and the wait staff is kind and always eager to please. The drive thru is fast, and you can’t go wrong with the small-town diner atmosphere inside.
