My son and I visited Ichiban on a Friday evening- the restaurant was very busy; however, we never felt rushed and the environment was very pleasant. Our server was very prompt with greeting us and offered warmed hand wipes. The appetizers were delicious (edamame, steamed vegetable gyoza, and yakitori) – they came to our table quickly and hot! Both soups (miso and the mushroom onion that came with the hibach) were delicious. the sushi (Tiger Roll and Firecracker) were fresh and generous and my son enjoyed the double protein (beef and chicken) hibachi. Our eyes were a bit bigger than our stomachs. It was a wonderful meal!

Such a great time with our gymnastics team! Service was very quick! Plenty of fast appetizers & drinks! Had a dedicated server the entire time! She has the kids laughing, what fun! Hibachi is always great there . Sushi too. Passed on the Hibachi grill tonight after trying to place us 2 at a hibachi table group who already ordered and started eating. Asked for the dining room . All good. Ordered sushi, and Hibachi combos table side. Not the same experience. Temperature control was off. Noodles , meat and vegetables were cool. Rice was warm . Vegetables were hard . Soup , salad , sushi and entree very very rushed . If you really want true Hibachi…wait for the Hibachi table where your comfortable and not crammed into someone else’s fun night.

My 1st time eating sushi and it was from here. My sister in law ordered for a double date night and I tried it and it was….wow. So much so, bae and I ordered again a few days later and it was delicious just like the 1st time. I’m now a sushi lover.

Ichiban has some of the best sushi in the area. They’ve been around for quite a while and I have been there many times. The flavors and textures are good along with the presentation. The hibachi is always seem like a lot of fun, but I’ve never tried them myself. This is definitely a go-to for good sushi.

To do a proper review, I’ll have to separate the reviews into two to match their offerings here.

The hibachi side is great and a very fun experience. Is always amazing to see the throngs of people waiting to enjoy the hibachi experience because the service is prompt and the chefs are engaging and entertaining. The food is very large portions, everyone always goes home with leftovers, a great experience overall.

I’ve never tried the sushi restaurant side until this past weekend. The service was great, fast and attentive. We sat next to a really rude woman who berated the waitstaff, but they handled it very professionally and deescalated the situation quickly and the woman simply had to pipe down, so kudos to the staff for that.

We ordered assorted sushi and they came out not quite right. Presentation was messy, things were soggy and unfortunately both of us think we got food poisoning from it. May be a one off experience, I’m going to try it again since I do like the establishment very much and think this might be an outlying experience.

It was a lovely experience. My boyfriend and I had a good time. We had the dinner for two option with steak, shrimp and chicken along with fried rice, veggies etc. The house salad at the beginning was definitely refreshing! Too yummy! The steak was delicious as well. The chicken and shrimp wasn’t flavorful so I was a bit disappointed about that because I really do love shrimp. My mango margarita was tasty. We had 2 sets of sushi to go but out of the 2 the shrimp tempura was our favorite. Only issue with taking away sushi is that it’s not presented as good as when you’re dining in. I do recommend this place though. The chef was interactive and nice!

Always a great place to eat! They put on a good show and a fun time if you’re having a party around the hibachi. Other than that you can eat at a table or sit at the sushi bar and watch the amazing sushi dishes coming out. They also have a full bar but make sure that you are going to the Oakhurst/Ocean Township Ichiban. Recommend getting there early on a Friday or a Saturday night. They fill up fast and people will be waiting.
