Casual chain with a menu of traditional Mexican dishes & margaritas, plus occasional live music.

I grew up in Houma and moved away in 1998. I haven’t eaten here since. I was blown away by the transformation of the place. I first stopped by a Mexican restaurant closer to my parents’ house, but it was too noisy; the music was way too loud. At El Paso, the new decor, inside and out, is pitch perfect: a fresh, bright fusion of traditional Mexican elements and modern design. It’s just a pleasure to sit in the space. The music is played at the right volume level and service was warm, friendly, and attentive. I had a skinny margarita and pork carnitas. Both were excellent. They bring perfect, freshly made thin and crispy tortilla chips with three dips when you sit down: a traditional fresh red salsa, a very nice, soupy bean dip, and the third dip recalled enchilada sauce. I enjoyed them all. They do quite a unique and mercifully short birthday song, with tambourines and rustic noisemakers, I had the privilege of observing at a nearby table. Come check it out if you haven’t been here in a while. Also, I’d forgotten how large the place is. And I can’t wait to come back in spring to sit on the renovated patio.

I love El Paso! Upon sitting, you get two salsas and a black bean dip. The queso here is great! Their steak street tacos are amazing! We would also recommend the taco salad or enchilada dinner! Great service and food is always out quick. Their dining room looks great with the remodel they did too! Would recommend to anyone who wants a delicious meal.

The atmosphere was vibrant and upscale, giving it a refined take on traditional Mexican dining. The tortilla soup was especially delicious, rich in flavor and comforting. I really enjoyed the interactive “make-it-yourself” approach—it added a fun and personalized touch to the meal. The nachos were perfectly crisp and loaded, and the margarita was outstanding- try the top shelf. We also tried the taco salad, tacos, and shrimp quesadillas, all of which were fresh and flavorful. The wait staff was warm, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!

Surprisingly good. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect going in, but the food is delicious. The chips and different salsas are great and the enchiladas and fajitas are just as good. Drinks are strong and tasty. Service was friendly and always kept our drinks full. The floor was a little slippery in places, but that’s the only real critique of this restaurant.

Great and comfortable place to dine in, plenty options on the menu. Decided to try the tortilla soup and it was delicious, all ingredients mixed perfectly, but soup was a little bit cold. Ordered a Chile relleno which looked delicious, a little disappointed for the sauce, but luckily the poblano pepper was spicy and added that kick that keep you engaged on the dish.
Last but not least, ordered the avocado dip and extra order of corn tortillas. I was expecting hand made tortillas, but instead I got them from the package and were dead cold.
The staff was friendly, will return for more

Our first time here! This establishment is nice, clean, and welcoming. We enjoyed our meals last night July12. The waiter was soft spoken but did a great job of making sure our drinks were refilled in a timely manner. Upon arrival chips were brought to the table and were still hot with 3 different dips. My favorite was the bean dip, so delicious .I ordered the Bistec a la Mexicana was very good. Grilled to perfection. Flour tortillas, sour cream and guacamole were all fresh. Quesadillas were made to perfection. The food filled us up. Our bill for a family of 4 was $68.00 then we threw in a tip. If we’re back in the area, we’ll stop in again. Thank you for a delicious meal.

My waiter was great. I ordered the ultimate enchiladas and was a little disappointed. Not quite what I was expecting. The places looks great, just not for me.

Door dashed myself a Happy Plate with rice and chicken at work. Found raw chicken. Thanks El Paso for potentially starting my year off with food poisoning.
