We decided to take a much-needed break from the holiday chaos and stopped into this well-known Tex-Mex chain, conveniently located right in the mall parking lot. It’s the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping!

The hacienda-style space is warm and inviting. We came primarily for their famous drinks and were not disappointed—the fresh lime margaritas and the signature margarita-sangria swirl were absolutely fantastic and expertly made.

We also stayed for lunch. The food and service were truly impeccable and refined. Everything tasted delicate and fresh, and our server was attentive and friendly.

They offer flexible seating options: you can grab a spot at the lively bar (which includes televisions for game days!), settle into the main dining area, or enjoy the weather on the outside patio.

If you’re looking for high-quality mesquite-grilled fare and a superior cocktail during your holiday errands (or anytime!), this is the place. We highly recommend stopping in!

This isn’t my first terrible experience here, my fiancé loves this place so I tolerate it. This past Sunday, we decided to go here and I usually get the taco salad, while my fiancé gets fajitas. Well the menu changed, so already some are disappointed there. We get our food, and my fiancé is missing stuff from his $32 plate. By the time I reach the bottom of my salad, I find a short dark thick hair. Looks to be a beard hair of some kind. (I have long brown hair and my partner is a ginger). I didn’t complain while I was there because I had already received a free meal from here before and didn’t want to be accused of anything. So, just beware where you eat and check if the kitchen is properly wearing hair AND beard nets.

A friend and her husband highly recommended Uncle Julio’s, telling me I absolutely had to try the Barbacoa Beef Fajitas. Now, I love fajitas, but I generally stick to the standard beef with beans and onions. I ate there once, I believe I tried their enchiladas that day, and it was fantastic food and a wonderful atmosphere. It is a bit pricey, but I still hadn’t tried the Barbacoa yet.
A few months later, on a special occasion, I went back and decided to take the leap. I ordered the Barbacoa Beef Fajitas, which include grilled zucchini and squash, sautéed peppers and onions, cilantro, tortillas, rice, and beans. I love zucchini and squash, but with Barbacoa beef? OH MY GOODNESS… YES!

I’ve gone back many times over the last few years, and now that is the only thing I ever order. I skip on the corn tortillas, which is what they usually serve it with, and always ask for the yummy flour tortillas. Try it, you’ll love it, and then you’ll be following me thinking, ‘Boy, this girl knows her food!’

In short it was my friends who really recommended it and now as my friend since you read everything I’ve written so far..I’m now recommending to you.

My family and me eat there the kid meal my kid got was not good it was a crispy Toca chicken and fresh fruit and french fries the chicken tasted like it was cold and had a bad aftertaste and the “fresh fruit” wasn’t even fresh. The orange taste like it had sitting there for days and the pineapple was the only thing good and the French fries tasted was bad and had no salt on them and it was cold and my uncle got a enchilada with beef and the sauce wasn’t good like how do you mess up enchilada sauce and they took long to serve us I mean the place was full but dang it seem like we waited a YEAR there . But the waiter that we have was amazing he named was Peter I think and he looked like he had a middle part in his hair and it’s was light brown and he white and had a light brown mustache that is long he deserves a raise and the people was nice . And I got a take out and they didn’t even me give me a fork to eat it and the rice was good and the chips was doesnt even tasted good and sauce wasn’t salsa it tasted burn and it didn’t have seasoning and it seem like they just blend it and didnt even tasted good and the beans tasted like it form can beans.EVEN A DOCTOR SAID THAT AMARILLO FOOD IS WAY BETTER.I WOULD NEVER EVEN GO THERE WHEN I COME BACK HERE TO LUBBOCK.THE PLACES IS LIKE APPLE BEE.

Manager was actively present on the Manager was actively present on the floor, ensuring that me and my wife were comfortable and that our dinner went smoothly. She checked in with us very well, addressed any questions with such care, every interaction with grace and positivity. It was clear they genuinely care about both their customers and their team, Will definitely stop by in town again!

The moment we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by a very happy and bubbly hostess. The wait was not too long, but we decided to have a drink first in the bar. Jesse was our bartender that took very good care of us. We decided to stay in the bar because how well we were being treated by Jesse.

Now for the star of the night. I won’t lie. I was a little disappointed with the change of the menus in them discontinuing the Carnita fajitas. Which are my absolute favorite. However my second choice, which is the steak fajita was absolutely amazing. The fajitas were very tender and flavorful. I didn’t take a picture of any of our drinks or food because I feel like that is silly.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the manager even came by to see how we were doing. It was very nice to know that even the managers take time to greet the customers and to make sure that they are being well taken care of. I couldn’t remember Her unique name, Jesse told me that they all call her Bell. Between Jesse and Bell We had a very pleasant evening. I highly recommend And will be returning very soon! Maybe even with pictures. Lol.

I went to Uncle Julio’s with my girlfriend for a date night, and honestly, it ended up being one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. We showed up around 8:45 on a Friday night, all dressed up and ready for a nice dinner, and the place was basically empty. You’d think that would mean we’d get good service, but nope.

Our server seemed annoyed the second we walked in, like we were inconveniencing her just by being there. When my girlfriend mentioned she had a gluten allergy and needed a small menu adjustment—like corn tortillas for her tacos—the server let out this huge, dramatic sigh. It was super awkward and kind of rude.

Then the food came out, and honestly, it wasn’t much better. The queso tasted like that super processed, liquid gold mac and cheese sauce, and the barbacoa and birria both had this weird cinnamon flavor that just didn’t work. Plus, they claimed they couldn’t make a simple tortilla swap when the restaurant was empty.

Long story short, between the bad service and the disappointing food, it just wasn’t worth it. I’d recommend taking your dinner plans somewhere else.

We really love going to this restaurant. Service is always great. The wait staff are so accomodating. However recently there has been a change. The menu had less items. The ones we liked were removed. For example, no chicken enchiladas, no American tacos, no Mushroom quessadilla, just to name a few. Also the beans used to taste homemade, like mamma made. Nope not this time. Bland as well as the rice. Husband noticed the prices went up corresponding with our favorites being gone
