Best Indian buffet we’ve been to in years! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and there were tons of options. The lunch buffet is $17.99 for adults and $9.99 for kids 4-8 years old.

Every time I am here, the food is spectacular. It’s hot, it’s reliable, it’s good, and it’s filling. Every time I leave, I wish I was hungry again so I could eat more. Outstanding food, friendly staff, consistently delicious. I love that I can come here with my vegetarian mom and meat loving dad and know everyone is leaving happy. Thank you for always having the best food in town. I’d give it 10000000 stars if I could.

Absolutely recommendable place where you even have to be in line and wait long time to get a seat but food and service is really awesome.
A girl “Manisha” is great girl with sweet and lovely hospitality. Loved her way of customer convincing and conversational technique.

Thali of India has the best array of vegetarian and meat dishes in Rochester!! The flavors are consistently amazing and the buffet is an awesome value. We had an issue with our delivery order recently and not only did they fulfill the order by delivering it themselves again, they also threw in a bunch of extra stuff to apologize for the wait. We love them!

This is the biggest Indian buffet I have ever seen. They offer buffets on weekends and Monday nights, featuring a wide variety of delicious dishes. There are plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available. For dessert, they have Indian sweets as well as ice cream. The drinks included in the buffet are masala chai and mango juice, although the mango juice was a bit diluted.
The interior of the place could use some improvement; it feels a little outdated. However, I would still recommend this buffet, as it is reasonably priced compared to others I’ve visited that had less variety. They also offer kid-friendly options like chicken tenders and French fries. The staff is very nice.

I drove 50 miles to try this Indian lunch buffet, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. Both the website and a phone call confirmed the buffet runs until 2:30 p.m., but when items started running out, they were not replenished and the buffet was closed early. Staff even began removing food before 2:00.
Most of the dishes were cold(not even warm). If you are Indian or familiar with authentic Indian food, you are likely not going to enjoy this at all. The food does not taste authentic, and the true flavors of spices are missing. All the curries tasted essentially the same, just with different colors, and were overwhelmingly sweet.
Roti was served to the table before we had even started our appetizers and not while we were seated which became cold within minutes and was not enjoyable.
Ironically, the dessert (payasam / rice pudding) which should have been sweet, was bland and lacked sweetness. Overall, considering the food quality, lack of authenticity, cold dishes, ambience and staff’s attitude, wasn’t worth the money.

Thali of India is one of those rare restaurants where everything from the aroma that greets you at the door to the warmth of the staff feels genuinely welcoming. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by the comforting sounds of soft Indian music playing in the background, setting the mood for a relaxed and flavorful dining experience. The staff treats every guest with real kindness and patience, always attentive without being intrusive. You can tell they take pride not only in their service but in making sure everyone feels at home, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth. The food itself is a vibrant journey through India’s rich culinary landscape. Every dish bursts with flavor, layered with spices that balance beautifully without ever being overwhelming. From the creamy, comforting butter chicken and fragrant biryanis to the tender naan and rich vegetarian curries, there’s something for everyone no matter what your taste buds crave. The buffet, in particular, stands out for its wide variety of offerings. It’s not just a few token dishes, but a full range of options that showcase how diverse Indian cuisine truly is sweet, spicy, tangy, and savory all on one plate. Each meal feels freshly prepared and thoughtfully seasoned, and the presentation adds to the experience without ever feeling pretentious. Whether you’re coming for lunch with coworkers, dinner with family, or simply to enjoy a good meal by yourself, Thali of India makes it feel like a celebration of flavor and hospitality. It’s a place that leaves you full, satisfied, and looking forward to your next visit because you know it’ll be just as good as the last. The combination of kind service, good music, authentic food, and that unmistakable sense of care makes Thali of India not just a restaurant, but a reminder of what good dining should feel like: warm, flavorful, and human.

This is the best buffet in NYS hands down. Everything is cooked perfectly and the owner is a true subject matter expert in his field. This is a 2nd generation business with one of the hardest working entrepreneurs in Rochester running the show. He is a true man of his word and he doesn’t skip on quality of ingredients. You can come here afternoon or night and always receive a top quality meal.

with great power comes great responsibility
honestly, they’re pretty good in terms of food. i end up preferring their buffet instead of anything à la carte but so does everyone. it’s a pretty popular spot esp on weekends so it can get difficult to get a table. usually, you’ll see people waiting outside or nearby but they take your number and call you when they’re ready for you. the buffet is pretty well organized with a good amount of options but the walking area is a bit small. love this spot but def busy
