If you haven’t tasted Nation’s before, prepare to be spoiled—this is diner comfort food at its best, with portion sizes and old-school hospitality that never disappoint. Locals and travelers alike swear by the bacon cheeseburgers, hand-spun shakes, and the seasonal pie selection. Eating here is like taking a bite out of true Bay Area history, with every meal crafted to satisfy and every booth bursting with nostalgia.
What really made this visit stand out, though, was the service. Joanna, Herry, and Miguel were incredibly welcoming and made sure everything was just right from start to finish. Our food was cooked perfectly to order, and their attention to detail truly showed.
The food is what keeps us coming back, but the exceptional service is what makes us choose the Nations at the bottom of the hill every time. A great experience all around—we’ll definitely be back!
I ordered onion rings, a bacon cheeseburger, and a drink. The onion rings were hot, fresh, and crunchy—definitely a highlight! Just a heads-up, they come out piping hot, so be careful. The burger was delicious, especially the freshly cooked bacon, which added a fantastic flavor. The veggies in the burger were crisp and fresh, and the cheese melted nicely.
Unfortunately, the drink was disappointing—it seemed like it was missing enough syrup, leaving it a bit bland.
As for dessert, I grabbed a slice of cheesecake to go and enjoyed it later with a cup of Peet’s Coffee. The cheesecake was rich and tasty—a perfect sweet finish to my visit.
The only downside is that the restaurant doesn’t have its own restroom, so I had to use the gas station’s restroom next door.
Overall, I enjoyed the food, and I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re craving a good burger and pie!
