The chef personally came to our table to welcome us and share the inspiration behind his dishes, which made the experience feel incredibly personal. You can truly feel his passion for his own creations and his dedication to crafting food that is both healthy and deeply flavorful. The menu is especially thoughtful for those who are gluten- and dairy-intolerant, without ever compromising on taste.
The atmosphere is calm, elegant, and modern. It looks very high-end, yet still feels friendly, relaxed, and easy-going—making it a perfect place to enjoy an elevated meal while feeling completely comfortable and welcomed.
Considering the high-quality ingredients, healthy yet delicious meals, and truly professional service, the pricing is extremely reasonable. An exceptional value and a beautiful dining experience all around. Highly recommended.
As we got seated at the table here, we were greeted by Chef. Randy Brar himself. He is a true gentleman and a very warm person. The staff at the restaurant was very courteous and constantly checked on us, ensuring a five-star experience.
We were a part of 5 and my parents practice Jainism and do not eat onion and garlic. Chef Brar understood the restrictions and was very kind to accommodate them. We requested one dish (Chana-paneer) without onion and garlic and he also presented us with jeera aloo, courtesy of the chef. My mom is a picky eater and after years of finding Indian restaurants that prepare without onion and garlic preparation, this was the first place where she ate and said the food felt like home. I was sure enough to pass it on to the chef but it also felt like an achievement for us to have finally found a place that she enjoyed eating at. Chef Brar was elated to hear about her experience.
We also ordered tandoori paneer rumali roti wrap and seasonal sabzi plate. The seasonal subzi plate for dec’25 had kaale chane and paneer in it. It was delicious. The tandoori paneer rumali roti wrap was extra-ordinarily well. I could taste the smokiness of the paneer, the onions and cucumbers, the sauces, all of it. One of the greatest wraps hands down!
The tandoori roti and the rumali roti were all made without all-purpose flour (maida) and the entire preparation was in clarified butter (ghee).
The special masala tea was freshly prepared and was a perfect finisher to a perfect meal.
I highly recommend this place. Anytime I find myself in Oakville, I will be sure to visit Spice & Saffron and Chef. Brar.
1. Malai Methi Mutter & Paneer
2. Kumbh Makai aur Palak: Both the curries tasted similar.
3. Green Chilli Mint Parantha
4. Carom Seeds Parantha
5. Za’atar Naan
6. Butter Roti
All the items were tasty. The staff here is super friendly and nice.
We had the pleasure to meet and chat with the owners as well. Amazing people and such an amazing experience.
They also brought out an “off the menu” goat curry that was fantastic.
For those wondering, the food is Halal.
Best experience ever and our new favorite go to Indian restaurant in town.
Randy explained his food philosophy to us and it truly makes sense health-wise. He has completely revamped the menu with nutrition and taste as his goals. I commend him as he hit the mark and exceeded our expectations.
Unlike many Indian restaurants, the spice is not overpowering, but gentle. Randy uses Black Chick Peas and his Butter Chicken has no butter or cream but he has added tomato to complete a creamy, tasty and satisfying dish. That was my favourite but we had two chicken dishes and a Dahl, all delicious. He uses no wheat in any dishes and that is important for anyone with gluten issues.
The meal was topped off with a unique ice cream and a guilt-free Beetroot Dessert, my favourite!
We were pleasantly surprised with the total cost of $200 including the tip, as we shared five dishes, four desserts and tea. We left, feeling full but not uncomfortable, after a very pleasant dining experience.
not enough spice. It’s the perfect amount of spice, and made with all natural health ingredients. Chef Randy and staff is very hospitable and gave us a great overview of their approach to Indian cuisine. If i could, i would give this 10 stars!
