We only ordered a take-out from Pollo Campero, last night, and the experience was quite good.
Pollo Campero, started in Guatemala over 50 years ago has become a very popular franchise chain in the Central American countries, originally in Guatemala, then in El Salvador, consequently making its way to numerous countries including the US, Spain and even China.
Thoroughly cooked (no annoying pink in the middle), perfectly breaded, the chicken had a perfect texture and tasted deliciously.
Pollo Campero offers numerous different options for your meal, the chicken is prepared according to your choice (fried, grilled or deep fried using the proprietary “Campero” recipe).
For your sides, you can choose between French fries, Yuka fries, cole slaw, Campero beans, Campero rice, plantains, guacamole, corn or “Garden” salads.
The prices are on a higher side for a chain restaurant, but the food is nowadays expensive everywhere, so no complaints.

A few days ago, I was given rotten coleslaw with my chicken combo. It tasted horrible and it made me vomit.

Quality…all the lettuce was clean and fresh. Chicken was right, not dry. A good amount of dressing was included. The “Jamaica” hibiscus punch was a good drink too!! I’ll be back.

Really enjoyed the food. I wish all fast food had so much flavor. The grilled chicken sandwich was fantastic, fresh, hot and a great sauce. Fries were run of the mill, but that happens. 5 dollars for 3 giant empanadas with a side, A-ok with me!

I cannot speak at to the service, as I ordered the food online, but the food was absolutely delicious! I’ve tried both the fried and grilled chicken, and Mac and Cheese! The Mac was a bit spicy for my taste, but I have a low tolerance for that, so I wouldn’t let that dissuade you. Both the grilled and fried chicken were well seasoned and they weren’t dry at all. I’ve also heard the plantains are good, but I haven’t had them myself.
