Reviews
Went to Fin and Fino for the first time. Have to give a shout out to the staff – the one constant at all of Jon Dresslers locations are the people. They are a lot of fun, they love their food, they take pride in what they do and it shows!
The people around us got the treatment, and I have to say it all looked amazing! There were no complaints whatsoever from anyone at the table.
As one would imagine – there was a great deal of fresh raw seafood as well as cooked. No surprise, it was fresh and excellent!
I got the roasted beets and the heart of ribeye. Both were wonderful – oh my goodness the beef was so tender and flavorful cooked perfectly.
The beets, a personal taste? I wasn’t a fan of what might have been peppercorns on the beets? It just was too strong for me when I crunched down on two. I am a beet lover so just scraped them off – they were excellent.
The calamari was really good, as was of course the shrimp cocktail and crab dip. Always amazing!
The mussels in the pasta dish were minuscule and not alot of pasta – it was about the size of an appetizer to be honest. Now perhaps that is what it was meant to be but not enough to feed one person as a main dish. Still, very flavorful.
I have to admit that Dresslers and Chapter 6 are still my favorites – hands-down, but you obviously cannot beat the freshness of the raw seafood and – The Treatment – was such a fun experience! All the seafood dishes were great!
Some of the other appetizers looked wonderful – didn’t get a chance to try the mushroom sourdough toast, but it looked amazing, for me worth going back again.
Clean inside, very busy and they have party rooms for anybody that would need one.
Everyone was too full to have dessert, but as you know, or in case you didn’t, they are all handmade from Joans Bakery to all the Dresslers eateries!
The only small thing that left us a bit puzzled: my friend and I ordered different dishes, but for some reason, all of our food was brought out in the same shared plate at every course. It made it hard to enjoy our individual selections separately, even though our orders were placed independently.
Still, a wonderful experience overall and I would absolutely come back!
On top of the food, the staff was outstanding. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered excellent recommendations that led us in directions we normally wouldn’t have gone for dinner—and we’re glad we did.
Between the interesting vibe, exceptional service, and truly impressive food scene, I can’t recommend this place enough. We’ll definitely be back.
Age of Wicked – It lived up to the name; truly wicked.
Calamari – The light breading and exquisite squid ink sauce were highlights.
Tuna Crudo – The sauce was delicious, though I would have preferred thinner slices.
Poke – Very fresh with the perfect amount of sauce and a surprisingly generous portion.
Salmon – One of the best grilled salmons I’ve ever tasted. I don’t even like salmon, yet I ate half of my husband’s order. I’m still wondering how they get it so crispy on the outside without overcooking the center.
Classic Cheesecake – Since it featured the owner’s name, I assumed it was a house specialty. I was right; it was excellent.
Service – Damaris was friendly and did a great job managing the busy Friday night crowd. We tipped 20%, plus an additional 5% simply because the restaurant doesn’t tack on “junk fees” (kitchen fees, staff health fees, etc.). While those fees are a management choice rather than the server’s, receiving an honest, old-fashioned check made the experience much better. I also liked that they didn’t include “suggested tip” calculations at the bottom.
Venue – Warm and inviting, with the exception of the additional seating area in the back, which felt a bit cold under the fluorescent lighting.
Now, in terms of food we did “the treatment” option. If you are not a creature of habit or have a big appetite I HIGHLY recommend this: It ranges from 3-5 courses (we had 4 courses total for ours) which comes with a variety of plates to share. If something sounded good on the specials/menu too be sure to say something. In our case, Jimmy made sure we got to try the striped sea bass special.
Whole heartedly recommend. I am so appreciative y’all gave my mom such a great birthday dinner. We will be back!
