I’ve never experienced Mexican food like this — and unfortunately, I don’t mean that in a good way. Cramped parking, a cold and confusing entrance, and a dark, awkward seating area set the tone. We sat next to a dirty table that stayed uncleared for the entire 90 minutes we were there. It took 10 minutes just to get menus, and even longer for food that arrived lukewarm and flavorless. My tacos were bland, made with oversized flour tortillas and canned-tasting beans. My boyfriend’s fajitas were dry and disappointing. When the waitress offered 50% off, it turned out to only apply to one item — we still paid full price for nearly everything, including $6 for two sodas.
This wasn’t just a bad meal — it was a complete disrespect to Mexican cuisine. The glowing reviews feel fake or delusional. This place either needs entirely new management or it needs to shut down. It’s a disgrace to Mexican food, period.

Used to love this place, we came here eight months ago. It has not impressed to me so we thought they had a bad day. We just came back again. This is what they feed you now it’s not what they used to be. This is our last time here I’m very saddened this place used to be amazing. About 35 years ago we discovered Mama Inez restaurant and bar in Idaho Falls, We were told to get the nachos.
They brought out a mountain of chips, cheese, meats, beans, tomatoes, onions, sour cream and Guac!! It easily fed four of us, we went back a few times but then they disappeared. We knew they had other locations but we couldn’t find them and they seemed to come and go.
Last Saturday night we were in Pocatello Idaho and headed in to town when I spotted a sign, “Did that say “Mama Inez”???”
Yup!
We swung around and parked, went inside and ordered a half order of chicken nachos (about $14), as it was just 2 of us.
The service was friendly and they took great care that all our needs were met.
The nachos have evolved, but they are still more than enough for the two of us. Everything was fresh and delicious.
We live about 2 hours south, but we will be coming back, and bringing the family!
So excited to find an old family favorite that we have missed for many years.
Go to Mama Inez, and try the Nachos!

A little too much cheese. I’ll remember to ask for less next time. I asked for Ranch and never got it, but too be fair, it was busy. I didn’t ask a second time so that was on me. I’ll definitely go back!!

I ordered a half nacho. They needed to remake it as it had slid, and it took 15 minutes to get the replacement. When they brought it out they told me it was a full, and charged the full price for the full nacho, even though I ordered a half. The food was also burnt, and over cooked. Waitress was awesome, and checked on our table frequently.
