The four of us tried the pizza and by far the Sausage was the tables consensus winner.
That sausage is what I’m talking about. The sauce and crust was good but unfortunately the middle of the pizza sagged. That’s a true test of a thin pizza.
The service was great as we sat in the back room. Our friends thought it was soo good they came back the following week. This is pretty close to Chicago Style Pizza.
This review is based off of the service and owner Lanette as I didn’t have any food.
I came here last Sunday night to watch the Bears game as this place popped up as a place to watch Bears games.
I posted up at the bar and had a few Miller lites that night. One of the owners Lanette came up and introduced herself and welcomed me. That was a nice start to the night but then it took a slight turn.
First they were busy, busy as they had servers making drinks. Now coming from event marketing and knowing people who own restaurants and bars, I look at businesses with a different eye beyond the food/drinks itself.
Could the owner/owners have helped out the workers instead of drinking wine/beer? Sure but not the case. There was a couple who sat next to me that ordered dry rub wings and a well done pizza. After 45 mins they had to ask about their food. A few minutes later their wings came out then their well done pizza came almost 30 minutes later and it was not well done, it was straight up burned. That deterred me from ordering food immediately.
The other thing that was not great was a guy controlling the audio of the game and music between commercials. Not only was there lags between the game and commercials, sometimes music was playing when the game restarted from the commercial break. If you’re going to do that, hire a DJ to do that. Just sayin.
I may come back and try the food but next time sit in the back room for the game.
Plenty of parking is available.
The Salad was great with tons of fixings. The fried ravioli was outstanding with delicious marinara sauce.
The thin crust pizza was the all start. Best I’ve ever had. Crust was super crispy and amazing, the toppings were fresh and clearly not from a can.
What a great spot. Can’t wait to catch a Bear game here in the future and try other stuff from the menu!
The mozzarella sticks here are really good. Their pizza is also quite delicious with various topping selections. The meatball sub was not good. The meatballs themselves were very dry. I could only eat one meatball and the bread was hard.
The house salad was small, but very fresh and flavorful. Nicely thought out and expertly proportioned.
The meatball appetizer was okay. The sauce had a nice boldness to it, but the balls a little to firm for me and lacking in flavor. But if you like your balls firm and saucy, give it a try. Ladies…
The pizza was the star of the show. Which is good. Pizza is in the name! If you like a good Chicago thin crust, this pizza will hit the spot. The crust and sauce and cheese and toppings all spot on. And the crust, thin with the proper crisp. It is a solid thin crust Chicago pie. So the place is named appropriately.
I want to make a side note and make it very clear I am a Buffalo fan, so I felt as though I was not being faithful to my team (he said jokingly).
Funny enough, my favorite thin-crust Chicago style pizza is Paul’s Chicago pizza. And turns out this restaurant was sold to these owners via Paul’s!
My pizza arrived to my table at about 7:00, hot and fresh. Let me be completely honest, this is one of the best things crust pizzas I’ve ever had. I simply ordered a medium pepperoni pizzas, and it did NOT disappoint. The medium was plenty of food for me (as a growing 20 year old man) and probably would be enough for two.
The breakdown:
Well sauced, good coverage of cheese, and plenty of pepperoni. The bake was on the more well done side, which I prefer.
The pizza was so good, I forgot to take any pictures haha.
Overall I’d rate this pizza 9.2/10.
I would highly recommend!
