Tropical Southern BBQ is a fusion between traditional southern BBQ and mouthwatering Island flavors. All of our meats are marinated in our dry rub, and slow smoked to perfection daily. We don’t cover our meats in sauce so that the tropical Smokey flavors can be enjoyed, but if you are in need of sauce and for a full Tropical Southern BBQ experience our homemade Pin-a-q-sauce is the perfect match for the Smokey flavors.

I really wanted to love this place because there aren’t many good BBQ options in the city. I’ve ordered from here before and the food was actually good, which is why this was so disappointing. This time around, most of the food was bland and dry. The brisket was very tough, the cornbread was dry, the mac and cheese lacked seasoning, and the chicken was also dry. The yams weren’t sweet at all, and I was surprised to only receive two very small ribs with my order.
The only things we truly enjoyed were the cake and the sausages. I’m hoping this was just an off day, but based on this experience, it didn’t meet expectations.

Sigh, I was really looking forward to trying what appeared to be a newer local BBQ spot. Online photos look great, 5 stars reviews on google and 4.3 stars currently on DoorDash. I should have read them BEFORE I ordered cause Sweet baby, in his name, was I wrong! 2 plates of chicken sliders and barely half of ONE slider edible. We dug through them all in an attempt to find a piece that wasnt unbearably dry. Alas, their chicken continued to choke us from the inside out. We even tried to pour all the sauce they gave us onto one slider, hoping it would get better, but that mission was a miserable fail. To add insult to injury, every top AND bottom bun was burt to oblivion (see photo). Lets move on to the sides. The mac and cheese did, in fact, look like the internet photo so I must give credit where credit is due. With that being said, if you take a paper towel and rub it on the inside of your mouth, that is what thier mac and cheese tastes like. Flavorless and dryer than hot sand. The “Smokin Sweet Yams” were the only thing anyone was able to digest. They almost have the extra soft consistency of pie. Flavor was strictly OK because again, based on the picture posted BY the Company itself, we were expecting a more formed, syrup-laden yam. I won’t be ordering again. A complete waste of $45.

Tropical Southern BBQ catered a union dinner meeting for me on Tuesday, 6/3/25. The food was delicious. My members can’t stop talking about how good the food was and to make sure we order from them again. The price was very reasonable and they set everything up buffet style for us. They provided more than enough utensils, plates, and napkins for everyone. I will definitely be using their services again.

LOVED the BBQ food here and very nice service. The brisket is absolutely delicious and the pulled pork is awesome! Get the Gran Daddy South plate, you’ll thank me later! I just hope they eventually open seven days a week.

Brisket was bland, should add chopped grilled onion. Over cooked. Bun could use some garlic or butter toasted in. Smoked Mac and cheese is bomb though
