I can’t believe I hadn’t review El Moose. It has become my go-to place for breakfast. Everything tastes fresh and is very flavorful. The service is always friendly and, if you plan it right, you’ll walk right in and be seated right away.

THIS PLACE IS HYPEJust underwhelming and overpriced for what was offered. Ambiance and service were not an issue but flavors were subtle and lacking. The tortillas were not fresh or handmade a big no no for “authentic” Mexican food. Would i come here again or recommend, no. And its shocking how many great reviews this place so maybe it was just me but try for yourself.

I just moved to the area from a small town in Arizona with authentic Mexican restaurants on every corner.
El Moose is the best Mexican food I have ever had! I’ve looked all over the Seattle area for good Mexican food and I finally found it! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, it’s so quaint and adorable. The service was excellent and the food….well, the food was absolutely heavenly. I highly recommend and will be telling everyone I know that this is the place to be!

The ambience is pretty amazing Mexican themed. Food was good palette wise not heavy at all just about subtle. In terms of flavours it needs pepping up! Overall a little hyped, the portion size is small; one can easily devour the whole ordered plate. The on-the-menu drinks are steeply priced.
Service was quick. It was difficult to find parking around the neighborhood, there is no restaurant parking facility.

El Moose has some of the best tacos in the Seattle (Ballard) area. Even though they are a little bit more on the pricey side, I enjoy bringing friends here to enjoy some bites. The alcoholic drinks are on the pricey side as well and isn’t something I get on a normal basis. They provide friendly service and food is made promptly every time!

The carnitas street tacos were delicious and hit the spot for me. It was a nice sunny afternoon and the vibe was perfect, nothing rushed, but not slow either. No music blasting, everything felt nice and easy. The women who helped us were lovely, too. They were welcoming of our toddler, too, which was much appreciated.

Coming from California, these aren’t bad tacos. The carnitas and al pastor were a bit dry, but fish tacos were pretty good. Tortillas were excellent. Price was higher than I’m used to, but I knew that coming in. Pretty good quality food, but value was mid. You’re partly paying for the avocado which was a nice touch, but still it’s on the expensive side for kinda small tacos.

Not sure if Ballard would be the same without this restaurant what a great treat! That is some seriously fresh authentic Mexican food

El Moose was an awesome Saturday lunch and we will definitely be back! We sat at the front bar and had solid service throughout. The margaritas we tried were strong and tasty, and the tacos, as well as quesadillas, were delicious. Highly recommend.
