Okay details, we walked in, were seated quickly, but then waited while 1 or 2 staff bussed all dirty tables before greeting us at our table or asking about drink orders. One waitress came up to take our drink order holding a stack of dirty plates and dishes. We then waited at least 10 minutes before someone else came to take our order; we were about 30 seconds from walking out prior to this (there were 2 tables of 2 when we first entered the restaurant, we were a party of 3). We ordered stuffed crust pizza (specifically stuffed crust, we asked if the crust was stuffed with mozzarella and were told yes) with different toppings on each half and a meatball sub. It was very impersonal, he just stared at his ordering console the entire time.
Meatball sub came out super fast, but then we had to wait 25 minutes before the pizza (that 2 of us were splitting) came out. The meatballs were massive and dry inside, but overall portion looked a good size (failed to get a pic). Pizza arrived; we were served a deep dish pizza and it was missing one topping and one of the split toppings seemed to be on (or I guess in) the whole pizza. The pizza did taste good.
After we were almost halfway through the pizza we were finally checked on again. We told the waiter we ordered stuffed crust not deep dish and about the missing topping. He reviewed the order he entered on his console and assured us it was entered with the correct split toppings and as stuffed crust not deep dish, and that he would go speak with his manger. 10-15 minutes later, he finally came back and said they took off the cost for the missing topping, and for medium pizzas, the stuffed crust IS deep dish (this was the same staff member who was confused about why he served us deep dish when we ordered stuffed crust). We paid and left.
Now looking at the menu after getting home, I realize we misread “stuffed pizza” as “stuffed crust pizza”, but what we were told and how we weren’t corrected during the taking of our order is frustrating, especially since we specifically asked what the crust was stuffed with. And we ordered different toppings on each half because we thought we were going to be able to see them and know whose half was whose because we thought we were getting a stuffed crust pizza not a deep dish.
Big beautiful brick building, disappointing service. Our table had an appropriate level of lighting, but other areas seemed quite dim (ex. the front end of the seating area). There were a few times where there were no staff out on the floor or behind the bar, but we could hear laughter from in the kitchen. We never got any drink refills (we only had water but still). Women’s bathroom was clean. We were hoping for a good local pizza joint, and left disappointed.
Starting with booking the place the “manager” Katelyn was unfriendly. Her tone only changed a little bit when I asked her if I could speak to her manager or the owner. She called me back and was a lot nicer letting me know that there will not be a band playing that day so that we didn’t have to rush out the stage which we use to give our awards.
When I get there there was no one in the front for a while. I had to call the restaurant from inside the restaurant to let them know we were there and had questions of the set up.
I was also told that there was a microphone available, and that our team video could be played on their TV.
The manager which later said she was the owners daughter tells me that there’s a band coming in at 8. I explained we should be done by 7 which we were.
I asked for the microphone and she says that it doesn’t work. She said she fixed it but it wasn’t loud enough.
The TV had no HDMI option, what she had was a blurry projector that stopped working halfway through our video.
The band started setting up early while we were still presenting awards on the stage.
Above all that the service was also extremely poor. Our waitress was rude to several guests, and multiple parents complained.
I was also told we could not pay separately by player number like we have done before, which made the payment process very stressful and chaotic because the waitress couldn’t calculate how much the pizza buffet will be per person with tax and gratuity included, I had to walk her through it.
Because of this experience, we will not be returning. This used to be a great place for our team celebrations, but not any more.
