Service: We went during happy hour and the server’s face turned so unhappy after we asked for the happy hour menu. He probably was having a bad day, or the place doesn’t treat their employees so well somehow.
Food: sashimi and/or nigiri was so mid…the tuna was actively stinky . We ordered a cooked roll to see if it tastes better, and nope the entire roll was just so bland and flat on flavor. The chicken karage was raw in the middle, or cold or recooked/deep fried too many times that it ended up chewy.
The mgr rob was funny and helpful my server tonight Lucas was spot on with suggestions and the choice of paired local wines was spot. I would also give major props to my server from last night but I can’t recall her name.
Kudos to the manager who managed very professionally an incident that occurred. I was a little worried that it could escalate though she handled it well. Thank you.
The food – the chix karage was nicely fried. Cucumber sunomono / salad and seaweed salad – decent. They are what you expect tho they are also hard to go wrong. We ordered one roll to try out – it tastes fine tho it isnt great.
The roll was kinda floppy and loose, and way too large (circumference wise). It was cut very thinly (about half an inch) and it probably was a practical choice as it is such a large / fat roll… tho it ruins the proportion and mouthfeel of how the roll should be. The ingredients of the roll were otherwise fresh and tasty.
To put it in the right context – I would not provide this feedback if this restie is not positioned as a sushi restaurant and is not so pricey.
It wasn’t busy at that time. We were greeted promptly to be seated.
Interior is definitely nicely furnished, lighting is a bit dark.
Menu selection is limited compared to your regular sushi restaurant. They mainly offer their own house made signature rolls in terms of sushi.
Food taste-wise was on point. Can taste the freshness of it.
Our server was very friendly, patient, and accommodating, which adds to the higher-class experience.
It’s definitely a place you would go to if you are looking for a more unique and high-quality Japanese food.
8/10 would come back again to try other food items on the menu.
Good for families, they’re very helpful and patient in explaining the menu. Highly recommended.
