I arrived 5:50 on a Saturday afternoon. Made my order the cashier waa patient and knew the menu well and gave me the option of ordering by the piece pr combo. I ordered two chicken legs, shrimp, fries and yams. Everything was served reasonably fast and hot. Everything tasted great. The chicken was juicy the shrimp was bigger than pop corn, size. The yams tasted like homemade. The mac and cheese also tasted homemade with the cheese melted together with a little crust on it. There were a generous portion of fries Un salted. You have the choice of salt, ketchup and some other sauces. There are window seats if you are alone. There are a 6 tables that seat 4 and one large table that could seat as many as 10 people. However your timing has to be right. There is ONE toddler/baby seat. Bathrooms are locked and require a combination and are relatively clean. They are two and they are gender Everything and are handicapped accessible. Look at attached picture. Parking is free mostly on one side however you can park on otherside but it could also be considered bank parking. You can get food togo and not be disappointed. There is a multi ethnic clientele. Both young, old ,black, white, Hispanic and some Asian who all come here to pick up food to take home. They’ve cheesecake and banna pudding and I think it’s called empanada. Some of the best sweet tea around…cross between McDonald’s and Chick fil A sweet. If you are trying to decide between here or Popeyes Tea,or lemonade this is better in my opinion. Mild chicken is great here.

I’ve been to Uncle C’s Chicken & Waffles three times, and honestly, I’m not a fan.

Yes, they serve halal chicken, the menu looks good, and the sides like candied yams are tasty. But the overall experience is frustrating. And it’s not like this place is cheap.
• The staff don’t explain the menu well. If you don’t ask specific questions, you’ll likely end up paying more than you expected.
• When ordering chicken, you need to spell out exactly which pieces you want. Otherwise, they’ll give you the tenders instead of regular legs or thighs. Also, they don’t serve fried chicken breast.
• Don’t bother coming an hour before closing. The staff are focused on cleaning and won’t make fresh chicken that late.

The food itself is decent, but between the lack of clarity, the pricing issues, and the poor service, it’s just not worth it. I won’t be back.

I ordered the 3-piece chicken dinner with mac & cheese, candied yams, and banana pudding. The chicken was okay, but I honestly would’ve preferred Popeyes. The mac & cheese had an odd flavor and no consistency, and the yams—though they had the best flavor, were dry and overcooked, with most of the sweetness sitting at the bottom of the tray. The banana pudding looked good but had no flavor at all.

The food was visually appealing, the staff was friendly and professional, and the restaurant was clean with a nice atmosphere. But for $25.40, it just didn’t taste like true Southern food.

Fried chicken was mediocre in my opinion but kids really enjoyed waffles and chicken nuggets. Fish was good as well.

My favorite restaurant in Alexandria. I don’t write google reviews but was inspired to give 5 stars after trying their seafood salad for the first time. I order from here often and have never been disappointed. Best chicken and waffles I have ever had from a restaurant. The prices are very fair for the amount of food you get. Amazing southern comfort food. Reminds me of home!

I ordered the fried shrimp with fries and cornbread and everything was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, hot, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. You can tell it’s made with care. I highly recommend this place. I’m officially obsessed and will definitely be a consistent customer.

Need high chairs and a kids menu but we made it work because the food is absolutely amazing. Crunchy, flavorful, piping hot, not stingy with the portions, pretty decent priced… all around just great. We go here all the time. Recommend the chicken and waffles but literally everything is good. I’ve tried the jumbo shrimp and fish and they slap too. The Mac and cheese is a MUST as a side and us shareable/2 ppl and the Yams a close second favorite. The banana pudding is just aiight… dud they just add the seafood salad? That’s next on my list to try.

Soooo I had such high expectations for this place considering all the reviews I saw about it on Tik toc. I went today with my fiancé on our way home from our weekend in Arlington. I ordered the shrimp with fries , neither of us wanted cornbread but we were told we couldn’t swap it. He ordered the fried chicken with a piece of corn. Now what I will say is the shrimp are def jumbo piece and are fried good . However, it’s too much salt in the seasoning , therefore my shrimp were salty , secondly the corn bread taste like dry pieces of a weird cake mix , I mean literally it was horrendous. Now the chicken was ok, to be honest considering the menus I thought it was black owned but it wasn’t, the whole staff is either Hispanic ( they don’t speak good English and can’t explain the menus for nothing or they’re some form of Arabic and they’re confused to ) and so were the fries. Also, his corn wasn’t sweet which means they don’t pick
Them good . For the prices they charge the food should be better . I will definitely NOT! Be returning. I’m sure my blood pressure was sky high today. I’m from nyc so this chicken absolutely taste like the Kennedy fried chicken store ! Idk it’s not worth going back

We really like Uncle Cs! I usually split the chicken tenders and waffle with my toddler and my husband will get the Atlanta with fries. We will then split the banana pudding for dessert. Delicious
