Everything looked the same familiar faces, same atmosphere, and that classic not-so-friendly greeting: “How many? Sit here!” (lol).
I ordered my usual lunch special sesame chicken. The price is still reasonable: $10 for egg drop soup, rice, an egg roll, a deep-fried wonton, and the main dish.
The taste was almost exactly as I remembered it. The service hasn’t changed either your typical Chinese restaurant style: brisk, efficient, maybe a little rough around the edges. They sound rude, but they’re really not. It’s just part of the charm.
Their egg drop soup is the best I’ve had in the west valley so far!
I came during dinner time and they were not that busy. I got seated right away and got my drink within a couple minutes. It took me awhile to go through the menu because it is extensive and there are tons of choices.
I ordered the seafood lo mein which was really good. It is a really good portion for a good price. The noodles were cooked well, there is plenty of sauce and there is lots of seafood including white fish, shrimp and scallops. This is some of the best lo mein that I have ever had.
They offered for us to come back the next day for food or to come into the restaurant for a refund, but since we live about 30 minutes away, that wasn’t realistic. They would not issue a refund unless we physically came back to the restaurant.
The food itself tasted mid, though to be fair, it had a long drive home. I’m willing to give this place another try in the future because I remember eating here about a couple years ago and it was really good back then. Hopefully this was just an off day due to the holiday.
