Best restaurants we had dinner during our 12 day holiday in Spain and Portugal. Ironically an Italian restaurant, but with local products from Spain.
The meat, the tomato, the mascarpone, the service. Everything was excellent.

We happened upon Pagus and were very happy with the service and food. As travellers through the area, we try to communicate as much as possible in Spanish but we aren’t fluent. While some restaurants have been very rude (sometimes outright ignoring us), the staff at Pagus went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
The food was amazing (and I don’t use that word flippantly). Simply put, it’s the freshest of ingredients prepared perfectly.
Olives: I will never preface this by saying I’m from Canada and we can’t get fresh olives there but these were the most flavourful and delicious olives I’ve eaten.
Beef carpaccio: this was prepared sprinkled with fois gras and balsamic. It was next level. We’ve eaten at many top-ranking restaurants around the world and this would rank in my top 5 favourite dishes.
Pasta and steak: The freshly made pasta and steak dishes were also everything you’d hope for.
If we lived here we would be regulars at Pagus. From the staff’s hospitality to the unforgettable food, we were very pleased!

The steak was really good. Carbonara pasta was also delicious and a dessert was cool. So I ate a lot. I think it’s a good choice to come here if you visit Leon, Spain. The staffs were very kind amd hospitable. It’s okay if you come and eat alone. I had a good meal experience.

Restaurant provides English service, very helpful. I asked for recommendations, was offered Trofie con tartufo e porcini, sauce was amazing with strong smell of truffle. the texture of pasta was pact perhaps due to the nature of trofie (try it with spaghetti, tagliatelle or bucatini). I was also recommended the Tagliata di entrecote (romero), texture was good, very juicy and greasy, it was just missing the aroma. it was a delight to dine here, 4.9/5.

Have been at Pagus now several times and every time I have enjoyed the juicy meat and delicious pastas a lot. Also the desserts are heavenly. The service is top notch and very friendly and fast. Through the years Pagus became my favourite restaurant in Leon with last night the highlight to celebrate my birthday at Pagus.

Food was good but service should be improved. Instead of serving the whole table in one time, the food was brought out as soon as it’s ready, with quite some time between it. Leaving people waiting with no food, while others have a full plate getting cold. This happened to all the surrounding tables too.
