Our first visit. Very happy we stopped in. I got the Camdeton ans didn’t catch that it cane with French fries inside it. Had I known that I wouldn’t have ordered it but it tasted great. The guacamole was really good, the chips and salsa Ajagu very good. The the wife had the Pollo loco and loved it. We will bring friends and family for sure. We also own a vacation rental (The Briarcliff Retreat) and we like to leave recommendations for places we try and enjoy while they stay.

The music was way too loud. Is this a restaurant or a club? Individual salsa bowls were nice. (Everyone is expected to share *one* in the north) The salsa tasted like bland tomato puree and n the unnatural redorange hue confirmed that. Similar sauce smeared over my cheese enchiladas. No onions, no seasoning, not even real cheese. Just Velveeta rolled in a raw tortilla, not even toasted. Taco was equal in taste n quality. Dude’s steak was hammered rubber. The guacamole was good. The long island ice tea wasn’t, but at least had a cpl shots in it.

Their menu is quite expansive, take your time. My buddy got some of the biggest chili rellenos we’ve ever seen! I was totally in the mood for some huevos con chorizo, but it was only listed on the lunch menu. I asked nicely and our waiter said he could absolutely get that for me for dinner. Awesome!
I’d gladly go back here and encourage you to check it out.

Been coming here too many times to count (15+ years!), and if there’s a place that deserves a review it’s this one. Great food, great service, and great prices. The Margaritas are average, but order an extra shot in them. Or two. Why not? Yes, it’s in a shopping mall, but don’t let that turn you off. The decor is average, don’t let that turn you off. Go in with a smile, and have a great dinner. If this place was in my ‘big city’ neighborhood back home, I would be going twice a month. Solid!

El Caporal is a great place for lunch or dinner! The lean and flavorful chicken fajitas were cooked to perfection, pictured below. They also came with plenty of toppings, including a delicious guacamole.
The chips and salsa also can’t be beat, and the margaritas were tasty and very reasonably priced, as was the rest of the meal.
The service was fast, and our waiter was attentive and friendly! I highly recommend!

So delicious. It’s Definitely TexMax food but I am not complaining. It’s so delicious. My husband got the Patron burrito and I got the Fajita mix!!! Yummy! We always come here when we come into town. The staff is always so nice! Drinks are always good and food is always yummy!!
