We stopped here while on the way to Chicago. No joke that the cole slaw was amazing!! I would come back for that and the peach pie a la mode! The actual lunch wasn’t all that special. I got pork and sauerkraut (a special for that day) and the sauerkraut was very salty! My husband got the chicken bacon ranch wrap was fine.

An excellent local diner staffed with wonderful friendly staff. The food is like what you would expect from your grandmother. The homemade pies and ice cream are to die for. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

I love the Cottage ice cream! They have a bunch of delicious flavors and always give you generous portions for very reasonable prices. Their milkshakes are very creamy and delicious, and the ice cream is fairly hard and not overly melty. It does get a little icy sometimes, like it’s melted and refrozen.

I travel a lot for work so I don’t get to eat homestyle meals often…. So while at the pilot truck stop, this seemed perfect with the only other option… McDonald’s. Although aesthetically speaking it isn’t the best looking. The food was so gooddddddd…. It’s been awhile that I can actually say, I loved everything that was ordered. I ordered a Lasagna which came with a side salad & garlic toast & the homemade ice cream cake (Oreo)…. Havent eaten a home cooked meal in weeks & this hit the spot. The service was great as well, my waitress was so nice & helpful. If ever I scroll back around town, I’ll be sure to stop by.
