It was my sister and I first time there. Our server Christian was nice and helpful. Usually bread would be the warm up to a starter but they serve you pickles which was rare but cool. We ordered the Bison nachos as our appetizer. It was okay. Not a fan of Bison meat. Our entree was delicious! The only problem was that on the menu it said garlic mashed potatoes but we didn’t taste the garlic. Our New York strip steak was tender and juicy! We weren’t too happy with the thick piece of fat on one side. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.
This was on a Saturday early evening around 5:30 but a Saturday. That was probably one of the busiest that I’ve seen all summer. There was a crew game, a Blue jackets game as well as a big concert at kemba live. Needless to say, the restaurant was packed but we got seated fairly quickly for our reservations.
It went downhill quick from there. It took forever for us to get the drinks that we ordered and it took over an hour to even put in our food. We ended up being late to the Blue jackets game due to how long the service was taking. However, we were hungry and needed to eat and we were all excited for bison meat.
Once the food finally came out I thought it was just me as I hadn’t had bison in a while, but the bison burger tasted extremely salty. And I’m the type of person that likes to add salt to fries no matter where I get them including McDonald’s. With that said, I have a pretty high tolerance for salt. As hungry as I was, I was not able to finish my whole bison burger because of how salty it was. I ate the fries with it and asked for some extra table pickles.
I asked my friends whether they felt the same way or if that’s just how bison meat typically is as they have been there more recently than I have but they all said the same thing. It was almost like those videos you see where someone goes to add a little extra salt. However, the top falls off and you end up dumping the whole bottle.
The drinks also weren’t bad but weren’t the best either. They did not follow the flavor profile as described and a lot of them were much stronger than they probably were supposed to, which for most people isn’t a bad thing. However, it kills The taste.
I’m hesitant to come back again as I’d like to try the bison burger and give another chance. However, I’m afraid it may come out the same and afraid it’ll take forever for me to get served. Hopefully this was just a one-off situation.
Our bartender was good. He squeezed in our happy hour drink and took our food order at the same time so our bison burger, which was perfectly cooked, arrived within eight minutes. That was so awesome given we wanted to get to the game with time to order drinks.
Who doesn’t love a perfectly cooked bison burger? I love bison and I love Ted’s.
We made plans to go to lunch after an event at Nationwide – we had a reservation for 1 PM, and were a bit early (20ish minutes) but were totally fine with waiting.
We were standing at the front – no one else was waiting, when a server walked by and said “we will get to you when we can get to you” and kept walking. Not friendly at all, and not what we have ever experienced but figured she must have been having an off day.
Another server walked up and said “three?” – I started to explain we had a reservation but were early and he cut me off saying “yeah a bunch of people had reservations and came early” – grabbed the menus and walked away without saying anything, then turned to indicate we should follow him. he sat us at a table, didn’t say a word and walked away.
after five or so minutes the bartender finally came over to take our order. she was rude and short with us, like we were somehow doing something wrong because she had to take our order. She was very inattentive- our drinks sat without refills, we had to stop her to ask for the pickles (which she acted like was the most inconvenient thing to get), and never asked how our food was.
we tried flagging down multiple servers and who I’m assuming was the manager to get refills, to no avail. we weren’t even given a kids menu/ activity despite having our toddler with us.
when the bartender finally came back over, it wasn’t to follow up or ask how everything was, if we needed anything, but instead dropped the bill off.
We were flabbergasted at how awful the service was – even though the food was great, the staff was AWFUL to the point I never want to visit this location again.
the restaurant was busy, but not full, and there was not a wait.
it seemed like they might have been understaffed, which just shows poor management. there was an event at nationwide that ended at lunch – the restaurant should have been better prepared honestly.
would recommend avoiding if it’s going to be busy at all, or just going to the Easton location.
