I want to say I love on the Border!
However, on the border Southlands does not meet the expectations of On the Border!
1st the restaurant was empty
2nd – we were sat at the bar area and TV was so laud, we asked to be moved to a different area
Hostess was very nice, we sat and chips and salsa were served immediately-
And so we waited…..and waited…and waited… waited some more- meanwhile we saw our waitress (proudly wearing her Broncos shirt! Go broncos!!!) go by several times- not once she said: I will be right with you guys!
Literally we felt ignored.
Waited some more and my husband said: now I know why this place is empty – then I looked at the reviews and read : food is good service is not-
We saw the waitress go by twice again and then we decided to get up – we asked if we owed anything for chips and salsa to hostess, she didn’t know- then someone else came, she asked and we were told no – they didn’t ask why we were leaving or if everything was ok?
So I turned around and said: our waitress never came around and we been waiting for a while! So we left
So 3rd – our waitress never came to our table waited too long –
Short staff? Ummm no- there was plenty of staff.
Busy? Restaurant was very empty!
Staff on break? Waitress could of said something-
I can see this place going down very quickly – if service doesn’t turn around and starts caring for their customers –
Such a sad experience!
So we end up eating at Red Lobster- great service/ fast and food was delicious – our waitress America was amazing!

Regardless of this changing owners This on the border restaurant still is terrible on so many levels and if the Pappa’s Brand that originally purchased the Bankrupt On The Border Restaurants in a Auction block buster deal Well if things Don’t change over I can not see On the border with New Owners Going Anywhere With This Purchase Of This Location Soon it will be closed cause it’s dead on a Saturday for a reason!
Steak fajitas were terrible No flavor whatsoever!
Rice and beans very bland
Chips were better but salsa still is bad at on the border to many tomato’s
When changing owners Well they need to change cooks and or teach them all new methods of how things should be cooked or prepared when serving food!
It will be a sign on the times if this location fails but only time will tell.

We were very sad to see this place so empty. We really enjoyed the happy hour food, drinks and especially the prices! Our waiter Andrew was super friendly and attentive. We will be going back for happy hour again soon!!

Ordered lunch to go, and it was awesome! They even put the sauce on the side for the chimichanga so it wouldn’t get soggy. The ground beef in the burrito is very flavorful, unlike most other Mexican restaurants in the area.

Special mention must go to the revamped fajitas, the meat quality has elevated to new heights, and the addition of a jalapeño provides just the right zesty kick. It’s clear that the kitchen has been listening to its diners, and the improvements are genuinely appreciated.

We go to On the Border almost every Friday! Service is usually not very good, but the food is good. Tonight Annikah gave us 5 Star Service! We never had to ask for anything, she already came with what ever we were wanting!

I ordered delivery and it took almost two hours.
I’d say their food is equivalent to a microwave meal. I should have taken caution especially after reading the reviews on here. I only ordered from this place because of a promo for their queso (buy one get one free). The queso tasted like velveeta cheese. I would not recommend their queso if you do not like fake processed cheese. The enchiladas were rubbery and the sauce on the red chili enchiladas was flavorless. Both the beans and rice tasted underdone. The salsa on the side tasted like canned tomatoes and the guacamole obviously was not fresh.
For price and quality of food, I didn’t find anything redeeming that would make me want to give it another chance. Save your money!

Just picked up an order. 1st, my fish tacos look like absolute trash. Second, they charge 9+ dollars for a “bowl” of queso is maybe the size of a cup of soup. They also had to be reminded that my order included a sprite. I arrived at the pick up time and the order was being rushed out of the kitchen. I placed my order hours in advance. Do not recommend ordering take out as it seems they cut corners to save cost, even though they are already saving cost by not having you dine in.

I used to really like going here. But showing up at happy hour doesn’t guarantee happy hour prices anymore. If you get seated in the dining area you don’t get a slightly cheaper drink which is why I probably won’t be going back. It used to be more laid back.
