My husband and I went to eat and the hostesses asked us inside or outside. And we wanted outside because it was a nice day outside. So we decided to eat outside and the hostess said we could sit anywhere. I said can can we sit at the deck because of course it was nice outside. The girl said oh the desk is closed so we were like okay that’s fine we understand, but 30 minutes later we were already eating and I see that they allowed some white couple with their child to sit at the desk. I felt that it’s very racist because I am Hispanic. That’s no way to treat others.

After many years of passing by this place on our way home, me and my sister finally decided to try out this place. This restaurant always seems packed, so we walked in with high expectations. Im sad to say that the food was not it. The customer service on the other hand was great and food presentation was nice. But, beans had no flavor and rice was chewy and tasted like it was re-heated. The tortillas for our enchiladas were so hard, the kind where you don’t even heat up the tortilla to soften it up and ends up being gritty. Texture was like a cold corn tortilla straight out of the bag from the store. Best thing we had was the chips and salsa.

I came here to celebrate my mother’s birthday.
I asked for Beatrice to serve us the hostess told me she had already clocked out so I told her we were leaving. She quickly asked Beatrice that a party of 8 was arriving she kindly clocked back in what a professional.
Amazing waiterres, Amazing with kids thank you Beatrice for making my mom’s day special. Definitely coming back. We came from Florida.

I haven’t had a bad food review in awhile but let me tell you why I didn’t like this place. The staff where friendly even one tried to talk to me as I was walking out to address the issue. Unfortunately I have to go back to work. So I move fast. Sorry about that.

I just didn’t like the food for the price. The fajitas were a small serving for $25+ worth of food. They had no aguas frescas. There was no spice on any of the salsas. This is very Tex Mex. If you like this kind of food this might be your spot. But the amount of cheddar cheese given to me. The lack of flavor and the over all meat experience… I have to give it a very low rating.

I tried to eat as comfortably as possible. Was kinda hard because there were flies everywhere. (Picture with a fly shown) but instead of giving me at least free tortillas or moved….i was just there. This isn’t a rating towards the staff but the food itself it was just a no for me. I did lose my appetite because of the flies though.

I just stumbled across this location because I was working in the area. Looks amazing and the staff are great. I definitely won’t come back though. But it’s been a pleasure and thank you for letting me rate your restaurant.

I am 5 months pregnant and have been craving Julio’s salsa since day 1 of my pregnancy. I get lunch to go often. I can’t get enough! With that being said they recently changed the salsa to go cups to a small portion. I even tried to buy a larger size with my to-go meal. Seems cheap to me considering the menu prices.

Food is always fresh and the staff is always polite. Overall little complaints. Just bring back the regular sized salsas!

Great service, good food, and great music! Julio’s Mexican Cantina is fun, colorful, energetic, and simply inviting. The place is always jumping on a Friday and Saturday evening, so be prepared to wait in line for available seating.

I’ve visited this place on several occasions with my family and we absolutely love the exciting ambiance and the delicious food! Hubby and I always order the shrimp and beef fajita platter for two, which is so delicious! The shrimp are cooked to perfection and not overdone and the beef fajitas are always juicy, tender, and served piping hot with nicely grilled onions and peppers. The presentation is beautiful with sides of rice and beans and all the toppings to accompany it, which includes cheese, sour cream, pico, and guac. The overall rating for this dish is a 4 out of 5. You can’t go wrong with the fajitas at this establishment.

Complimentary chips and salsas- 3 out of 5. The chips are served warm and crisp and they’re not too salty which is a good thing. The salsas are just okay, nothing to brag about but the green salsa tastes much better than the dark one. The queso- 3 out of 5; it’s pretty tasty.

Mahi Mahi fish tacos- 2.5 out 5. Although they were a pretty nice size, the fish in the tacos didn’t taste fresh and was very bland and needed to be awakened with some flavors and salt. The side of rice was a small portion and could have been more but it tasted good, so 3 out of 5. The side of beans were full of flavor but appeared to be canned beans but tasted pretty good, so 3.5 out of 5 stars for the beans.

Frozen Strawberry/Mango Margarita with Tajin- 3 out of 5 stars. The presentation of this margarita is beautiful but the alcohol ratio to the margarita itself was off. I couldn’t taste the liquor in it at all. So it’s a pretty drink but it’s pretty weak. The Julio Original Margarita is 4 out of 5. One could actually feel the liquor in this drink. I highly recommend it.

Overall, my family and I enjoy Julio’s Cantina for the great customer service, the exciting atmosphere, and the delicious food. It’s not overly amazing or mind blowing but the food is edible and it’s a great spot to hangout with friends and family. There’s Mexican music spewing out of overhead speakers and it’s pretty loud, so you have to speak loudly to be heard in conversations. The dining area is clean whenever we visit but it’s sort of a small area. However, they also have outdoor dining which can be enjoyable during good-weather days. They do not take reservations, so be prepared to wait for a table if you’re visiting on a weekend around 6 pm and after because it gets pretty busy.

Flavorful food! So Good! I like how the fajitas were cooked, medium rare and sliced thin, super tender and delicious! Great cheese dip. The best pickled jalapeño peppers, carrots, and onions in it fabulous.

Julius Mexican Cantina is our go to spot in Tomball, and for good reason! Every time we visit, I’m drawn straight to their amazing chimichanga it’s my absolute favorite dish on the menu!

The flavors, the crunch, the overall experience… it’s always a winner! The consistency and quality of their food keep us coming back for more. If you’re a fan of authentic Mexican cuisine, Julius Mexican Cantina is a must try!

Can’t recommend it enough!

barely any meat in the fajita combo. we mentioned it to the manager and they said they couldn’t do anything. i felt they gave me that amount of meat because im a girl/they think i have a lower appetite. there’s no way they would’ve been comfortable giving a man that. my mom also noticed she had lower portions than usual. we went here 3 times before. disappointed that they became stingy.

edit: the manager never offered us to do anything for us and we were in a hurry so we just left. if they offered us extra meat, there wouldn’t be a problem. that is why i am writing this 1 star review. prospective customers, just maybe don’t order the for one fajitas if you don’t think it will fill you up based on the picture!

Absolutely horrible service. Got here at 5:02pm – sat at the bar (for quickness). Ordered fajita (easy). It is now 6:15 – nothing. This is the second time. The first we were “ok, it’s a one off, they are busy etc.” but NO this is no bueno.
We have many choices. NEVER AGAIN!
