My two guests had never been to The Pantry before, but after our meal they were looking forward to returning and bringing their own guests. We had a cozy, delightful time. BTW I was looking for a high protein meal, and my chef’s salad was just right! (If I could have accepted the toasted, homemade bread, I would have eagerly done so. Sigh.)

The best part for us was the charming atmosphere with unique, eclectic decor. We came for Saturday lunch and waited over an hour. Once seated, the service could have been a little quicker, though we may have just been too hungry. That said, the food came out quickly once we ordered, and it was absolutely delicious. The fish fillet (Icelandic cod) was the best I’ve had, and the bread pudding was excellent. Sorry no fish photo—I was too hungry! Definitely worth the visit, but don’t come starving, as the wait can be long.

Most Awesome Breakfast & Lunch Place in ALL of Colorado Springs! Best Breakfast! Better Food & Service than Cracker Barrel & Uncle Sam’s Pancake House! Awesome Atmosphere & Location! Drive up the Pass on Highway 24 and get away from the crowded city and enjoy a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere along with the best food, service and coffee around! Lifetime Area Resident!! A++

First time at The Pantry! We went on Friday morning at 10:45 and were sat at 11:30 for a party of 2 (prepare for a loooooong wait, there’s not much seating) and every entity of the process takes time here, but you’ll have plenty of time to study the menu before you’re seated and luckily the kitchen is quick which saves the day the food was excellent. We got the eggs Benedict with avo and bacon and the country fried steak with country potatoes and the baked bread with scrumdittilyumptious butter is to die for. An absolute round of applause for the kitchen for one of the best breakfasts we’ve had.
Our server was nice and efficient as well.
I would recommend stopping here coming from town, but be prepared to wait! Worth it

Not many dining options, so I get that it’s busy. Waited for an hour for the food to come out. No explanation, no checking up, not even an excuse. They ran out of the soup of the day & didn’t bother notifying us & substituted some random beef stew instead. Probably hoping we forgot what we ordered, since we had to wait so long.

After hearing the locals rave about this place, food was average, so lower your expectations.

Another great experience at The Pantry! It’s been 6 years since we last visited. I was so glad to see they were still in business and doing well. This time we got the Cobb salad and grilled cheese sandwich with curly fries. Both were amazing and service was great. We hope to be back again soon!

Really pleasant, cool, shady outdoor seating on a sunny hot day.

Waitress was friendly, but seemed a bit overwhelmed. The outdoor seating is significantly larger than it seems as it is broken up into multiple areas. As others have noted the food is a little slow coming, but as long as you have time to relax and enjoy, it’s a pleasant experience.

They really seem a bit over stretched. I don’t know if it’s normal, or if it was the festival at the lake increasing numbers. The most concerning thing to me was when I got some else’s credit card back when paying. Hopefully mine was just waiting at the cashier still.

I normally think of toast as just a little extra starch to fill you up or a delivery method for honey or jelly. However their raisin cinnamon toast was very enjoyable. I didn’t even add honey.

Likewise, “breakfast potatoes” normally strike me as a waste. And I was intrigued by another review that said the breakfast potatoes were the only joke on the menu. I actually really liked them. They were almost like extra thick chips. Ranging from crispy to just warmed in the middle. Well worth eating.

The eggs were also really flavorful, like farm fresh eggs.

The sausage patty was also very good with just a hint of spice heat.

The Italian sausage gravy versus standard white gravy is also worth it.

The cinnamon roll was nice. The bread portion was great as a sweet bread, not a donut or dry loaf bread as too often happens. A bit more cinnamon and frosting would be better in my opinion. Still better than average for restaurant cinnamon rolls.

Great place for an al fresco breakfast or lunch in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains! There is a large patio overlooking the town park and lake, as well as plenty of indoor seating.

Service was great and the food was delicious. Our group of 6 waited approximately 30 minutes to get an outdoor table on a Saturday morning, but there are several shops and the nice park to pass the time until your table is ready.

I had the chicken fried steak lunch and was very pleased! Great food and friendly service!
