Very clean atmosphere. The staff were very attentive. The food was amazing!! I got 2 corn chicken tacos with onions and cilantro. The chicken was so moist and everything tasted fresh. The green sauce was spicy and delicious. Definitely would recommend. My favorite Mexican restaurant in Amarillo.

Did wanna give a huge shout out to El Tapatio on Coulter. We Stopped in for breakfast this weekend.
Not only is the grub good, the service is great, the folks there are warm and kind. But I also wanted to give them a big boost with this pancake.
My little boy ordered it for breakfast. Not a kids pancake, just a pancake. The way his face lit up when this dude hit the table, and the amount of pride that this was served and presented with, was something special.

This place is amazingly good!!! The food is so fresh and delicious!!!! The waitress was so attentive!!! We had the menudo, poppers and the Tropicanas fajitas!!! The pineapple was so delicious and the shrimp grilled perfectly!!! The menudo was so flavorful and they gave alot of meat on the small. The bread with the menudo was so toasty and buttery and warm.

Well let just dive right in, environment was good not busy like I thought durning lunch time which is a plus but when I got seated I got acknowledged by my waiter and told I would like Dr Pepper, saw her going back and forth without my drink, had to ask another waiter. Customer service was plain. No joy of working nor did she even check on our drinks or asked if we needed anything. Besides that the chips were good but the salsa was tomato-ish….wasn’t to my liking but the queso was great. My dish was a torta, I couldn’t finish it. Something in it tasted off. I wouldn’t come back here at all. Just my opinion and experience.

I’ve been here a few times over the years, and if it was closer to my side of town I’d go a lot more often. Typically I’ve gotten Sunday breakfast here. Everything I’ve ever tried has been hella good, but I really recommend the menudo and the breakfast burritos. Both are priced super reasonable. The staff is always helpful and friendly, too. Taqueria El Tapatio stays on my recommended list for friends and family.

On my lunch break I stopped by. On the menu for the drive thru the kids menu states there is a drink included with rice and beans. After ordering for me and my kid. I asked about the drink, the lady tells me it’s only for customers that come into the restaurant.. wth? The menu clearly states that a drink is included but nothing about it only being for inside customers. I will not be returning and will NOT recommend people to eat here. It’s the false advertisement for me. Thumbs DOWN! Tomatoes! Tomatoes!

The prices are pretty moderate for a time when restaurants find it difficult to keep prices down. The green chili chicken enchiladas were very good. My major complaint about most Mexican restaurants is that the food is bland. Taqueria El Tapatio seasons their food, and that doesn’t mean heat, but heat is there if you want t it. I’ll be going back. Soon, I hope.

My fiancé and I ate here to get some good authentic Mexican food. We had Jalapeño Poppers as an appetizer with Chapala and Carne Asada as our entrees. She had a Rio Margarita and I had a Miller Lite. Overall we liked the place. The food came out quick and was very tasty. You definitely get a lot of food with each meal so be prepared to either take home leftovers or a big appetite. Definitely will recommend this place as it isn’t Tex Mex but real authentic Mexican place.
