In 1994, Walla and Michael moved their family from the bustling streets of Los Angeles to the quiet suburbs of Palmdale, CA. Finding that there were not many options for quality Thai food in the Antelope Valley, we decided to open a restaurant to fill that niche. Our goal was to serve the freshest food, flavors reminiscent of our childhoods in Thailand- aromatic, spicy, salty, sweet and tangy, all robust yet balanced. The harmony of those flavors incorporates organically grown ingredients from their own garden, such as fresh kaffir lime leaves.
Family-run outfit featuring classic Thai & Chinese dishes in unpretentious surroundings.

Pot was well in taste but unfortunately too much cabbage not enough mussels and shrimps. Dumplings were okay, I guess. However, the drink were definitely another opinion. They were definitely delicious. We ordered the Chinese broccoli with beef was good. I gave this frm 1 -10 this place was a 7.5
This place is a gem. It’s not a big restaurant, but it makes up for it with the best food and cozy relaxing atmosphere.
The waiter was very patient, as we had 2 elderly guests with us. He brought us everything soon enough. Food took around 20min to arrive.
fyi: It gets busy at lunch.
Just be prepared for the variety in the menu. So many good dishes. I ordered simple pork chow mein, and it was the best I’ve ever tried!
Too much good stuff to list. You just have to try it once.
On our most recent visit, we were told directly by the owner that no dishes can be made vegan anymore. Every sauce now contains either oyster sauce or fish sauce, and the kitchen is not able to prepare any dish without these ingredients except by serving it completely plain. This is a major change, as for more than a decade we were able to order vegan versions of multiple menu items without any issue.
For long-term customers who have dietary needs or ethical preferences, this is incredibly disappointing. Lancaster has very few restaurants that accommodate vegans, and Shandra Thai used to be a reliable and delicious option. Removing all vegan flexibility makes it very difficult for us—and likely many others—to continue dining here.
This review will be updated or rescinded if the restaurant decides to restore vegan-friendly options. We would love to keep supporting this business as we have for so many years, but right now it is no longer a feasible choice for those needing vegan meals.
Parking was accessible since the restaurant is within a plaza which has other stores. Food is good, service is good as well. The menu has several choices of food, including vegetarian options also a variety of drinks. The dinning area is a somewhat small however we do recommend this restaurant !
