The floor under our table was disgusting and sticky. Service was extremely slow and the waiter rarely checked on us. I waited forever for a side of mayo and eventually went to the payment counter to ask for it. The food is on the pricey side for the portion size but I will admit it tasted good. I’m not sure if they give checks but our waiter never provided one so we just walked up front and paid. I’m not sure if I’d ever return.

We love the Shoreline Diner! Almost everything is home made – including fresh squeezed juices, hand-pressed and dry aged burgers, etc. They have a full bar and a massive menu. You can order breakfast or lunch any time of day. And they really cater to people with food allergies. We already loved the diner before my husband was diagnosed with celiac disease, and now we love it even more!

“No other place serves organic eggs” seems to be the owners reasoning for the absolutely ridiculous pricing. Apparently we are too ignorant to know that organic eggs can be purchased from countless vendors for under 50 cents a piece, even less when bought in bulk, delivery included. Maybe $1 if you’re not shopping around and have never seen the internet.
You can use as many quality ingredients as you can find and even add a slightly gourmet presentation. The execution is neither quality enough nor gourmet enough to warrant the prices. The food is inconsistent, nothing exceptional flavor wise, and the “desserts”?
The preparation needs a lot of work to achieve what they seem to be going for. It’s hard to believe this place has been successful with this pricing and inconsistency .
Lower the prices then perhaps they would seem more reasonable and in line with what is served. The offerings and the preparation just do live up to the cost. Even considering the area.
Seeing people pay $50+ for two small breakfasts that are little more than what we prepared on dorm room hot plates years ago has left me with a bad taste. It’s almost insulting.
I almost always give a place more than one try before passing judgement. I’m done now. I’ll be skipping this one from here on out.

We thought this would be a diner as one imagines a diner to be, it is not.
Three people, 2 pancakes with hash browns and a scrambled egg as well as 1 sandwich with fries came to $82.65 plus tip.
There was nothing special about this place unless you’re a Vegan. Typical booths and such.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend going here. The diner down the street has better food and expected prices.

On advice from a Guilford local we stopped for a quick lunch before heading home at Shoreline Diner. It is very clean and comfortable. We were greeted and seated at a booth by a window. Our server was right there to offer drinks and give us the extensive menu. We each ordered the pita gyro with beef and lamb which was quite good. We decided to have a dessert and were a little disappointed in the dessert versus the description. I had a warm apple which was a round shortbread cookie with warm sliced apples and a little caramel sauce on it luckily I supplemented it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Janet had pecan pie with chocolate ice cream and it wasn’t really a slice of pie but more line a shortbread cookie with pecans and sauce. Although they were good we were disappointed in them.

This place is really cool. It’s kind of like if a bunch of vegetarian hipsters bought an old diner, cleaned it up, and decided to serve gourmet food. They have many many fancy seaming non-vegetarian options. But what drew me in was the sign that it was a vegetarian enclave haha. Definitely a few good looking vegan choices. I ordered a falafel pita, which was tasty and just the right portion size for a nice little lunch. Very friendly staff, very in tune to dietary restrictions. Everything on the menu is labeled about dairy-free, not free, all that. So if you have any dietary restrictions, you would love this place.

The place was also very clean, very easy to get to. Totally recommend this please.

I am so happy I found a place by the shore where I can eat a delicious vegan meal while my husband eats whatever he likes. Thank you so much for accommodating both of us. We will be back! I had the Tempeh Reuben with sweet potato fries and I can’t wait to try everything else on your vegan menu. My husband ordered the Patty Melt on the regular menu and he said it was delicious. We also ordered the guacamole & chips and my meal came with soup or salad, so I ordered the vegan chili and it was wonderful. We were stuffed when we left.

It’s frustrating to write this, but I hope the owner can change the culture of their team because the behavior is past unacceptable. I’ve dealt with indifferent behavior from the staff here recently, but nothing like today.

It is absolutely, totally unacceptable to slam things onto the table, it’s also just bad service to mutter as you walk away from the table because you’re upset. I work in service, I know how difficult some customers can be, but I’m sure I wasn’t one of them. As best as I can tell, the waitress was upset I didn’t ask how she was when she said “how are you today” and instead I said “I’m good thank you”, but that’s only my best guess because I only spoke maybe 3 sentences to that person. Which listen, I greet people all day and often get ignored for my job, what I don’t do is throw a tantrum when I don’t get the answer I want and mutter under my breath about customers right in front of them.

I’m sorry, but the food isn’t good enough to deal with this behavior.

Amazing old fashioned diner with new age views.
They cater to all sorts of diets and preferences.
My mom got a well cooked Over Easy Egg with bacon and home fries.
I had the Vegan BuckWheat pancakes with fresh local maple syrup and they were divine! I also got the Tempeh Ruben.
I always try a vegan Ruben when available and this one was cooked nice and crispy! The bread was fresh made also, and held up to the moisture of the innards.
I also got a Vegan chocolate tart and it was a great choice! They make them in-house from scratch.
Even the bathroom had nice Tile accents.
Definitely recommend 100%
