I am awarding three stars for the food solely because of portion size to cost ratio. The food itself (chicken bacon ranch sandwich, spinach & mushroom quiche, and the breakfast croissant sandwich) was tasty; however, the quiche was equivalent to a 1/2 portion at other places (good size for a child). The same could be said for the breakfast croissant.
The chicken bacon ranch sandwich was tasty; however, the sandwich contents were minimal. It did come with a side “salad” with a tasty dressing which was a nice surprise.
Unfortunately, the two guests who had the croissant and quiche left still feeling hungry; thus, there is a mismatch between price (on the more expensive side) and portions once receives for the price.
We also tired a gluten free doughnut and coffee cake. They were cold and nothing special; they tasted like they came out of a box from the frozen food section at King Soopers…very disappointing.
The coffee was nothing special either; however, the food we ordered came out fairly quickly (which could also be a sign of some of the items being pre-made and wanted) and the staff was friendly.
The atmosphere is eclectic; however, it was cold (even when seated away from the door in the second seating area); so if you do go bring a jacket or sweater.
All-in-all, a disappointing experience and I would not return based on this experience.
Tanner,
I’ve tried to email you twice; however, it was kicked back on both attempts.
Iced Bay Latte: 6/10 (the flavors weren’t white balanced for me. The lavender was very overpowering.)
Butter croissant: 9/10
Poppyseed Donut: 7/10
Carrot cake bite: 7/10
The music blasts so loud that the wall I was sitting next to was literally shaking. Not sure if it was this establishment’s music or the one next door, but either way, it was extremely disrupting. The wifi is also very unpredictable.
I will say, the food is really great and I love the diverse options but the below-average service makes it not worth it. Every time I order, the staff makes me feel like a burden.
Tips for the owner:
– Please start placing the menus closer to the start of the line. I’m either reaching over people to get to it or waiting until I’m at the front and feeling rushed.
– Customer service should be your #1 focus on improvement as I’ve seen many other reviews address this issue.
– Figure out how to speed up the flow of your kitchen and barista bar. It shouldn’t take 10 minutes for me to get a plain cold brew.
I always come in hopes it’s better but I’m literally disappointed every single time.
I had the Lemon White Mocha and damn… I wish they had a Feel Love near me (I was visiting family) because I could see that being a regular for me until I got tired of it and wanted to try the next exciting option (looking at you Mexican Mocha).
The atmosphere in the place has the older opulent feel of a cafe on the Titanic, but without the iceberg and tragedy.
Next time I am in town, this will be one of my first stops.
To be fair, the matcha is good, and the blueberry scones are delicious, though they’ve noticeably gotten smaller over time. The coffees are decent, but not standout compared to other local options. I ordered the iced Mexican mocha more than once thinking the first time might’ve been a fluke, but it was overly spiced each time and not enjoyable for my taste. The vegan coffee cake was served cold and didn’t feel worth the price, and a breakfast sandwich I ordered first thing in the morning had avocado that tasted old.
When I received utensils with that sandwich, they were visibly dirty and I didn’t notice til I got home (to go order). Unfortunately, that wasn’t the first time that’s happened, which is concerning.
Customer service has also been consistently lacking. Staff often seem rushed and disengaged, with little effort to be welcoming. On my most recent visit, I was pushed through checkout so quickly that I didn’t even have the chance to mention a $5 off coupon. This has been a recurring experience, not a one-off.
Between the downtown location, current construction, high prices (nearly $9 for a drink), and inconsistent service and quality, it’s becoming hard to justify going out of my way. There’s potential here, but it isn’t being met.
Revisited this month (Sept. 2025) with my bestie and had another great experience. Tried the macha flight….the orange chanel (I may be wrong on spelling) is the Best Macha I’ve ever had. 10/10. Coming here is a treat!
