The restaurant name is in the dish. That must be good, right?
Nope.
When the plate arrived, the fried potatoes were potato chips… and they covered the entire meal. See picture.
For my first time at a restaurant that people raved, I was disappointed. Next time, I’ll get salmon or beef or something with veggies.
Best Portuguese food
Her kale soup was really a white bean soup with 2 small pieces of kale. Tasted exactly like white bean, definitely not Portuguese.
Clam chowder was Smokey with hardly any clams or clam flavor.
She had quahogs and shrimp……..Full of garlic…… still smelling it.
I ordered fish and scallops. Way way overcooked. Sent back and ordered just a serving of calamari. It came out after she had finished her dinner and it was rubbery.
Over cooked. Chef had fired it twice because his first cook was overdone and didn’t want it to leave the kitchen.
We were looking for a good dinner together but didn’t find it here.
At any rate, food and service were great. Those who had cocktails and wine seemed to enjoy, and since we were really there to enjoy a meal and visit with family members I refused to let the “inferior” fried potatoes spoil my night…..still, I used to really enjoy those old thicker cut ones!
Fried seafood appetizers were great. Calamari and cod cakes. Fantastic. Littlenecks in a great garlicky broth were also wonderful. Ordered halibut with shrimp and scallops on special. Was excited as halibut isn’t seen much these days on menus. Shrimp and scallops were great. The halibut was very over-cooked and leathery. Huge disappointment. “Round l-fries” are just potato chips. Should’ve had the mashed. Two swordfish orders at the table said the same of their fish. Maybe try a lunch sandwich here if nowhere else to go, but sticking with bottled beer and no grilled/baked fish.
