I’m definitely disappointed because not only did I not get what I ordered but they also forgot to include the tortillas to my order lol I placed the order over the phone and asked what the chile rellenos came with and the guy answered: Meat and Cheese. I was happy to hear that because if not I wouldn’t had mind paying extra for the meat (especially since I’m pregnant). To my surprise when we got home they didn’t only forget to include the tortillas, but they also didn’t include the meat. I called back but they didn’t seem to care haha At least the girl that answered said sorry

Cold drinks, great food!

Fast service and the food is hot and fresh. Great hand craft drinks!

Parking can get tricky when it’s busy in the shopping center. You are able to park on the back side near CVS, door is available on both sides of restaurant

We were really excited thinking we would get some quality authentic Mexican food for one meal while visiting the Island and decided on Taqueria El Ranchero because we were in the area. The food was below average, and I was very disappointed in the tiny pieces of dry fish that I was told was Mahi Mahi in the Seafood Burrito. It was mostly filled with Rice as a major filler. My wife got the fish tacos which she gets everywhere we go and she was disappointed. But above that the seating is tight and in a crowded area so we walked around the other side to a large table for the 8 of us on the bar side. We were quickly told we could not sit over there even though they are joined together on both ends of the area because we didn’t buy our food over there. The service was NOT friendly and overall, I would NOT recommend this place.

First time there but the three of us had an excellent late lunch. I had a chorizo wet burrito covered with half green sauce and half red sauce and all the flavors were just perfect. The atmosphere is that of a bar/cantina so it’s upbeat with locals stopping in for a bite and a beer. Service was excellent and very attentive stopping by the table frequently. It’s located in a strip mall and kind of small but perfect for a group of 4 to have a nice authentic mexican meal.

This eatery has two sides: a fast food dine-in/takeout area and a full-service Sports Bar. We chose to dine in at the Sports Bar side. Our waitress was fantastic—super kind and accommodating. She made sure we were comfortable with the seating, especially since we didn’t want to be near the bar or in a warmer spot.

The food was excellent! The Mucho Madness drink was a standout, and we especially loved the garlic fries and supreme quesadillas. The atmosphere was fun and laid-back. Definitely a spot we’d return to.

The food and service here was great last time we visited. But this time it honestly sucked . We waited atleast 10 minutes for our server to come get our food and drink orders, it took them so long to get our drinks and chips to us my husband had time to go to Foodland , get some groceries and came back to a still empty table. Our waitress forgot to bring part of the order to us , and it was cold when it did come . No drinks refilled the entire time we were there . Just really disappointing service for a Thursday night where it wasn’t really that busy . Queso sauce great , everything else was kind of mid.

Hard to find great Mexican food on the island and this place is pretty close to being good. Tacos could use a little more cilantro, onions and meat. Tacos ala carte were kinda small for the price of $5 each or drop the price to $3 each. Nobody has good salsa on the island including this restaurant. Salsa was too watery and blended instead of chopped or diced. I don’t know if would come back.

Lady with glasses, who’s on the register is super rude and always mad. She gives attitude a lot. The food is okay but how can you have a nice lunch/dinner if someone else ruins it for you, and you can’t order food correctly if she just rushes you.?

Legit Mexican restaurant in the heart of Wahiawa, used to frequent this place for Taco Tuesdays back in the day.

Still a good place if im in the area for some Mexican food, prices have gone up considerably like everything else living in Hawaii so I dont visit as much as I used to. Ordered a Modelo and the Birria Tacos, hit the spot

This was my first time eating at Taqueria El Ranchero. The restaurant is long and narrow with the ordering window and order pick up in the middle. I was there on a weeknight. It was busy but we had no problem getting a table.

I ordered a Burrito with homemade chorizo. The chorizo had great flavor but overpowered the Burrito. They have a salsa bar with four choices so it was fun to try them all. I was given a small bag of tortilla chips. Some of them were really salty. Overall the food was very good.

The restaurant, including the salsa bar, were kept clean. I sat under one of the two televisions and the volume was a little high so I had a hard time hearing my dinner partner. Not a big problem. I will choose a different table next time.

There is a lot of parking and the location is convenient if you are in the Wahiawa area.
