Vinyl Taco isn’t just a place to grab a bite; it’s an absolute must-visit Fargo destination! If you’re looking for great food, excellent drinks, and a genuinely fun atmosphere, this is your spot.
First off, the tacos are delicious—fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you crave. But what elevates the experience is their impressive drink menu. They offer a superb selection of genuine beer, wines, and whiskey, which is a pleasant surprise for a taco spot. Best of all? Everything is priced very reasonably, making it a perfect spot for a casual night out.
However, the real star of the show is the staff. They are incredibly lovely and attentive, and they truly entertain you from the moment you walk in. Their enthusiasm and helpfulness make the service unforgettable and genuinely fun.
The location is also super convenient—it’s right near the Radisson Blu, so it’s easy to find whether you’re a local or just visiting.
If you are in Fargo and looking for an amazing combo of tasty tacos, great drinks, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere, do yourself a favor and check out Vinyl Taco. Nicely recommend!

No shade to Fargo, ND, but what comes to mind is a dreary, cold, dark, kinda boring city thanks to the show that put y’all on the map. But what I found was a vibrant nightlife scene with lots of clubs, bars and restaurants just like Vinyl Taco that had so much flare, spirit and style! I loved the fact that the menus were freaking records! I loved the throwback decor of when diners took over restaurants corners everywhere and the fact that their food was ON POINT! Inexpensive too!
Atmosphere/Appearance: Vibrant, energetic, welcoming and most of all fun!
Service: I couldn’t remember who took care of me, but I had no complaints.
Food: The margaritas were pretty freaking cool because they come in a variety of sizes, but you get one size cup. So you just get big jars of extra that you can continuously pour up all on your own! The flavors were abundant and very tasty. From the chips and salsa to the high-quality gourmet tacos, everything was absolutely on point and I loved it here.
Value: It IIISSS Fargo, ND, but it’s high quality Mexican fare so… this place definitely won’t break the bank at all.
In conclusion, if I haven’t convinced you to check this place out yet, I don’t know what I’m doing writing Yelp reviews. Lol. This was my favorite restaurant I visited while in town.

I loved Vinyl Taco. Sometimes, the little things are what sets a restaurant apart. From the moment I sat down and handed a menu that looked like a vinyl record, I knew I would at least enjoy the atmosphere at Vinyl Taco. The decorations in the restaurant establish a cool and relaxed vibe. The food was reasonably priced across the board. I chose to go with a burrito which was extremely filling and delicious.

I’m really impressed! Downtown Fargo has a lot of upbeat and charismatic eateries, and Vinyl Taco is certainly one that holds down the fort and carries the team!
Their food, one word: awesome. It’s Tex Mex, but they do it rightttt baby! The menus are laminated onto records which is so neat, it really sticks with the “vinyl” theme. I had the mango tacos here and those were absolutely my favorite thing! But everything else I’ve tried has been top bar too- the chimichanga is another worth mentioning!
Inside, there’s low lighting and loud music, so it could almost be a romantic vibe but just not quite. Decorations are pretty outlandish but like I said before, it all works into the theme. One warning is that Vinyl is superrrr popular. They are a “seat yourself” establishment, so if you get there at peak meal time and have more than 2 people you will most likely end up waiting or have a lot of trouble finding seats. My friend and I came on a weekend night around 8, and it was so packed we just decided to leave and go somewhere else. It really does get that busy. Oh, and it’s 21 and up so another thing to keep in mind.
For all your hippie/ grunge/ alternative/ indie foodie needs give Vinyl Taco a listen!!

I recently went here with some friends. We were to find our own seats, so we found a table outside on their small sidewalk patio. The seats were stool tops without the legs; attached to the table from the side of it. Odd and uncomfortable. Vibes were neat, server was nice. Menu was on a vinyl record. Nice concept, except per the server’s instructions, we still had to go to their website to look at drink options. We all ordered margaritas, which were refreshing and good. We did wait quite a while for our food to arrive, but nibbled on delicious chips and mediocre guacamole while we waited. Two of us ordered two tacos each, and unfortunately they were all cold. Not lukewarm, cold. And we could tell by the very wilted slaw that the tacos were made long ago. I would have sent it back to be redone, but the server didn’t come back to check on us for quite a while, we were incredibly hungry, and I didn’t want to keep my friends waiting even longer for food to be remade. So I tried it with the wilted slaw, didn’t like that texture, removed it and some of the tortilla shell, ate the rest. My friend and I agree that had they been served hot, they would have been 7.5-8/10. But cold, 1-2/10. I’d consider going back, but I’d sit inside to avoid uncomfortable outdoor seats. I’d also order something else, or ask for the tacos to be served right after being made. Customers shouldn’t have to ask for that to happen though.

Vinyl Taco has very tasty food. My queso topped smoked chicken burrito was very filling. The chips had too much salt on them and the guacamole was a little bland for my taste, but still delicious. The guac was prepared some time ago since it had turned brown in several spots. The atmosphere was wonderful and the setting in downtown Fargo was simply superb.

Today was only the second time I had been to Vinyl Taco, and it was better than the first. I wasn’t sure what to order, but the bartender, Megan, was kind and helpful and gave me some suggestions. I ended up ordering a fish taco, the mango chicken taco and a fajita chicken taco. I was most impressed by the fish taco, I myself am not usually a fan, but this one was great. The other two were good, but the clear victor of the three was the fish. If you’re looking to spice it up a notch, be sure to ask for the habanero salsa, it’s delicious, but be careful, it has a kick. The is a great place to dine, good food and a great drink selection, with Mexican beers on tap on a wide variety of tequilas. A warm and cozy spot with eclectic decor.
