First like to say that the the lady was very nice and sweet. However, once I received my food and was back to work things got very different. I went here for the first time due for work lunch. The food was fresh but for the cost extremely disappointed. I ordered the trio, which is steak, chicken and shrimp. The plate was 3/4 full of veggies, 4pieces of shrimp and 8 small pieces of of steak. For $60 meal, that’s absolutely astounding and they forgot my chicken. Had to call up to request it, but at that point I didn’t even want the food. The sushi was good and fresh which is the only thing that helped save my lunch period. But I’ll never come back here again. I understand that there’s a strict adherence to portions but when you’re charging a premium atleast make the customer feel like they were right to invest not sticker shocked ontop of a bad experience. Again, no disrespect to this shop and it’s not about the money but my experience was terrible overall. Had high hopes due to solid reviews but due to a failed first impression it’s all it took to completely turn me off. Mind you, I’ve reviews hundreds of speciality places with entrée much more expensive and even they were nearly double generous in their portions. Lastly, prepare for your order to take minimum 20min-30mins. If you’re pressed for time I wouldn’t bother.

Editing my review because they were very kind to help with what I didn’t like about my order and swapped it out. They changed their almond chicken to breaded and not battered like it used to be. The bento box is perfect to enjoy a little bit of everything I like that they have that.

My son and I decided to come here for lunch and we were not disappointed! I got the sesame chicken (w/fried rice) and egg drop soup. My son got the shrimp tempura. The egg drop soup was phenomenal and the sesame chicken was delicious also. The glaze was perfect and paired well with the rice. I recently developed a severe allergy to shellfish and forgot to tell them when I ordered. When I remembered to mention it, they assured me that what I ordered was safe and then came back to re-confirm the shrimp tempura order was intentional and that my son wasn’t also allergic. I really appreciate them going the extra mile for that! My son was in love with the shrimp tempura. He stated that it was amazing and that he was going to get it again the next time. The portions were amazing for the price. Needless to say, we will be coming back often.

Ordered the hibachi chicken dinner, hibachi chicken and shrimp, and general tsos. Got lo mein & fried rice. Everything was ordered to-go, so I didn’t dine in. It was really solid! I enjoyed everything. Just wouldn’t give it a 5/5 because it didn’t WOW me. If you want solid hibachi, it’s a decent spot.

I haven’t eaten at Pekin Tokyo in about eight years. Back then, the food was overly salty and the quality was about average. Deciding it was time to give them another chance, I’m glad that I did. The quality and taste of the food has dramatically improved. The salty sauces have been replaced with flavor and spices. I ordered the Pad Thai which was a delicious take on the traditional dish of Thailand. We ordered Sesame Chicken which before was way too salty. However, this time it was excellent! The Mongolian Beef was flavorful and the beef tender. Our server was very attentive and the restaurant was clean. The menu is simply huge and it will be interesting to try other dishes. If you happen to find yourself hungry and heading north on Southfield in Allen Park, give Pekin Tokyo a try.

Two of us went to dinner here on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was relatively empty, so we had no problem getting seated quickly. The wait staff was just OK. They gave us our menus quickly but waited almost 20 minutes to return to take our order. Our waiter seemed more interested in sitting at a nearby empty table engrossed in her phone. I ordered the coconut chicken dinner. The food was very tasty and the portion was huge. My colleagues dinner was a very large portion, too. Each of the plates would have served at least two people. The food was very moderately priced. I’d come back for more and try other dishes, too. They have an extensive menu of traditional Asian favorites and a wide selection of sushi, too.

Hidden gem. Some friends introduced us. The food was so good. The bento box is perfect and gives you a few different goodies. You get to pick from a list and there are many different choices. You cannot go wrong. The sushi is excellent. The prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be returning.

I wanted to share what a positive experience I had at this restaurant. I was here on a Saturday afternoon with my two boys 5&6. It wasn’t too busy but as the food was coming out and very delicious by the way all of it; one of my boys was eating a little too fast and ended up vomiting on the booth and part of the table. I felt really bad for him but also uncomfortable given the place we were in, but then the waitress came over and she nicely went to get something to clean it up and I’m not sure if he was the manager/owner or what but another employee came and was just the sweetest. Joked around with my boy so he didn’t feel bad and nicely moved us to another table so we could continue our dinner. As a mom who was there on her own I really appreciate the kindness and empathy of all the employees here and will absolutely be coming back and recommending the amazing food and service here.

Definitely my favorite spot in the Allen Park area. The food is always delicious and the service is always friendly. The prices are fair (hard to beat the value of a bento box) and the variety is great. Also, they have the best egg drop soup I have found in the area (among many other items). If ever they have made a mistake, they have more than made up for it. I happily return here often and will continue to do so.

Hibachi, sushi, Chinese. It’s great for the price, close and they seem to do allot of Togo orders.
We ordered the bento box, bang bang chicken, Alaskan roll, the steak and lobster hibachi, gyoza, spring roll, and a crunchy crab roll.
And they give you good sized portions.
Everything tasted great, food was tender and flavorful.
The wait staff are super friendly and cute.
Will definitely be coming back. Great place to eat.
The atmosphere isn’t extravagant, simple and convenient.
