We chose the Chicken Korma and the Chicken Tikka Masala lunch specials.
Both items were very flavorful and great tasting!
The restaurant dining area is not very large, so there could possibly be a wait during the dinner rush.
We highly recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting the area!
To start, I paid $25 for parking, only to realize it wasn’t worth a penny given the appalling food and service.
The menu boasts an extensive list of dishes and drinks, but when we tried to order, multiple items – including basic soft drinks – were unavailable.
We ordered Tandoori Chicken, a Vegetable Platter, Manchurian, Carrot Halwa, and Kulfi.
• The Tandoori Chicken arrived without mint chutney. When I asked, the server said she’d bring it but never returned. On follow-up, she casually mentioned they were out of stock – on a Friday night at 6:30 PM! The chicken itself was dry, flavorless, and inedible without the chutney.
• The Vegetable Platter was excessively oily, tasteless, and served only with sweet chutney (again, no mint due to being “out of stock”).
• The Manchurian was the worst I’ve ever had – nothing like proper Gobi or Vegetable Manchurian. It tasted like overcooked pakoras drowned in sweet chutney, with no authentic cabbage base or Indo-Chinese flavor. We left most of it untouched.
• The Carrot Halwa was shocking: undercooked shredded carrots with visible unmixed milk/cream, more like a raw carrot salad than halwa. Worse, I found a whole cinnamon stick in it. When I showed the server, she showed no concern, saying it “might have been accidentally mixed.” I worried about hygiene and left it untouched due to health concerns.
• Service throughout was nonexistent – servers disappeared after dropping off food and never checked back, perhaps knowing the quality was subpar.
The atmosphere was poor: unclean tables, lack of cleanliness overall, and a depressing vibe. On a Friday evening, there were only two other customers despite indoor and outdoor seating – a clear red flag I ignored.
The bill came to around $80 (plus parking), with full charges for everything, including the uneaten halwa. No apology, discount, or courtesy from management – just a smile and walk away.
I’m stunned this place is still operating. The food was tasteless, unhygienic, and overpriced garbage. My stomach ached with acidity and discomfort afterward. I’d rather eat at McDonald’s (or skip dinner entirely) than return here. Service, food quality, cleanliness, atmosphere – nothing redeeming.
Strongly advise everyone to avoid this restaurant. Save your money and health – there are far better options in Tampa for Indian food.
I intentionally pay a tip of 0.50 to show how the service and overall experience I had and what they are worthy of !! If they take it serious and improve for betterment, also for all people who strongly read the review before visiting may helpful them.
I will never ever try this place again it’s HORRIBLE!!!
We ordered lamb and chicken vindaloo, when asked spice levels… we decided on Indian (as my friend and I have a high spice tolerance)… well let’s say we where a Lil hot and bothered. Great flavors, didn’t finish it… we couldn’t handle the . Will be back again for the next round… trying for 1 level off from Indian
The food was not the best Indian I’ve ever had, but it was decent. This is a good place to come for the lunch special during the weekday. The chicken in the chicken korma was a bit dry since it was chicken breast, but the flavor and texture were great, not spicy at all, even though I was never asked my spice level.
The service alone gets this place a solid 4 stars, with better food or cheaper prices it’d definitely be reaching 5 star tier.
We ate dinner on a Friday at about 7:30 pm and I was initially curious as to why there were only three tables being served, including ours, with only one server that was also acting as the hostess, as well, in what should be a busy time in the restaurant, but quickly found out why.
Almost all the dishes contain bell peppers, which I am allergic to, but are not listed in the contents on the menu. There is small notification asking to inform your server of food allergies, but it does not stand out. So, we sent two dishes back for that reason and another because it was simply unpalatable. My companion who was tasting the dishes literally had only one small bite of food in each case. We made sure to tell the server why we returned the dishes in each case.
I managed to find one of 3 dishes that did not have bell peppers with the help of the server, and ended up eating it because I was starving at that point, despite the fact that it wasn’t that good. My companion refused to eat any of the dishes, since she was disgusted by all of them, including mine.
Usually when food is returned with only a very small portion missing and the reason for the return is given, then the food is removed from the bill. In this case that did not happen. When I asked the server why the dishes remained on the bill and asked that she remove them, she refused saying that it was because we ate some of the food and we did not initially inform her of my food allergy, which we did after the first dish with bell peppers was returned. That dish was an appetizer. Again, this was a VERY small portion of food that was immediately returned. I informed the server that we were appalled by our treatment, that we would not be returning ever again to the establishment, and wrote that with the reason why on the bill, which was around $100. This has never happened to me before. We left no tip, which I have NEVER done before anywhere ever.
I would not recommend eating here at all.
If this restaurant goes out of business, which it should, they will have no one to blame but themselves.
