I moved to Woodruff 3 years ago. Mr. Jalapeno was the first place I stopped in and ate after moving here. This is the only Mexican food I will eat now. They have the most affordable prices in the area. The have the FASTEST, order to table food I have ever seen! I had an entire plate of Mr. Jalapeno Nachos on my table within 4 minutes of ordering. They have the nicest, friendly staff in the area. Not to mention we always get recognized and asked if we want our usual. On lazy days we sometimes order to go when we don’t feel like cooking and the food is perfectly packages and remains the same no matter how you get it. 5/5 Will always hype this place up to all my family when they come to visit!

Great Mexican food! You have to try the shredded beef stuffed poblano !! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of menu. They have a salsa bar. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Price is good especially for the portion size!

The food is great and everything but we are currently here and asked for a drink at 930 and our waitress said that the manger said no more when the hours are til 10. Last night we came again and we were here a bit past 10. It’s currently 9:45, yes we know they are closing but they turned off the music and and basically rushing us out. I am manager of a restaurant as well and I myself would be mad at my employees if this was to happen at the restaurant. It’s 10 minutes til close and they are literally putting up all the seats up right next to us. Now tell me how would that make any other customer feel?

This place has really gone downhill. I’ve been back several times hoping I just caught them on an off night, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Every visit has been disappointing. The food has no flavor, I’ve been served gray meat, the queso is watered down, chips have been stale, and the service is rough — getting hit with a literal “what do you want?” as soon as you sit down is not exactly welcoming.
For context, I always tip 25% even when service is lacking, and I’ve never asked for a discount or complained because I’m not comfortable asking for freebies. I’ve worked in restaurant management, so I’m patient and understanding — but it’s frustrating to keep spending money and leaving unhappy.
Mr. Jalapeño used to be all the rave a few years ago, which is why I kept giving it another chance, but I won’t be back. From talking to others, it seems like I’m not the only one experiencing these issues.
I really hope they can turn things around, but until then I can’t recommend it.

Really good find. Well lit and good atmosphere. Service was on point. Food was great and they did great with the request we had for our kids. Adding the tip automatically kind of irritated us. Tipped twice!!!

Food was excellent. Margaritas were top notch. I was tempted to ask for the recipe. The food could have been seasoned more, rather than relying on the sauce alone to provide all the flavor. Still 5 stars, however. I will certainly return and highly recommend. The decor was incredible.

Everything seemed like it was microwaved. Sizzling hot outside with cold inside. It was the least authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had. Not worth the price.

Great service and the food was tasty. Lovely sauce bar. Tried several sauces but could never find the “spicy” (hot) one. But the food was so good and the service so attentive that we’ll go back and try again.
