We stopped here on a road trip from VA to AR and we’re so glad we did. It is really easy to get to off interstate 64 and is a great place to stop for a small town feel & home cooked meal. Everyone was so nice and welcoming! We had lunch but the breakfast looks amazing, too. We happened upon $1 wing day and they were crispy & delicious. We also had the BLT and grilled chicken sandwiches and highly recommend both! Get a side of the homemade ranch with whatever you order!
We got it to go and sat outside because we were traveling with a dog but we should have asked because they are dog friendly!!

Sat in the parking lot with 4 other cars waiting for you to open. No notice on line. No notice on the door. We drove 35 minutes to get here. The car next to us did the same. They wanted to buy gift certificates. A heads up that you were closed would of been nice

Had breakfast at the newly open Salvin General Store. Nice atmosphere and great service. Lots of old Selvin memorabilia.
We ordered pancakes with orange juice and omelette with hash browns. The pancakes were ok, but not special. Some blueberries would have been nice with the simple maple syrop.
The hashbrowns were cold. We noticed that the cook makes them ahead of time and serves them cold to the customers. That is not good.
A little more effort to make the food special is needed at this place. We will not return.

TIFF Marketing
Stopped in today for their soft opening and it was delicious and the prices are great. I had Coffee, hash browns with cheese, 2 biscuits and Sausage gravy, plus two bags of ice all for $11.50. Please support Lana and her team as they bring back a long standing tradition in North Eastern warrick count. It’s worth the drive.

We went to Holiday World, and as we were leaving to go home, we got breakfast here. It is a very nice, cozy place! Plenty of seating without feeling too crowded. Any potato dish (I got the shredded hashbrowns and my mom got the fried potatos) was AMAZING!! The eggs were also very good. The gravy is okay. The toast was not warm, but still good and buttered nicely! The sourdough bread is very very good. The bacon wasn’t warm and it was chewy, but it was still good. The pancake was very good, but I put a little too much syrup on it, and the syrup is very sweet. The service was very good!! We didn’t get the waitress’ name, but she was very nice and attentive. Never needed to get her attention, as she frequently checked in on us. Our cups were never empty, and she was awesome. The TV played old black-and-white shows, and the decor was so cute! The food took a little long, but it was worth it! Would definitely come back again.

Sadly Selvin General Store has been going down hill over the past several months.
Went for breakfast with my Wife today. Entered the restaurant at 8:30, got menus at 8:40. They were busy, so no problem so far. Order was taken at 8:45…so far so good. This is when the wheels started coming off the rims. Waiting, waiting, waiting…finally asked our waitress to check on our order at 9:30, shared with her we’d been in the restaurant for an hour at this point…the response I got “I know, we’re running behind”.
A couple who had been waiting before we arrived finally got their food and our waitress said we’d be next up Well, that didn’t work out…two tables that came in 30 and 40 minutes after we first arrived got their orders and we’re still waiting. We finally got our food at 9:45….an hour and 15 minutes after we arrived and a full hour after we had ordered (between us both we had 4 eggs, Hashbrowns, 2 pancakes and 3 strips of bacon…nothing to exotic) When the food arrived the Hashbrowns were either burnt or not cooked, bacon was bunt on one end and nearly raw on the other and the eggs were overcooked. I’ve work a grill in a restaurant and I know when someone is trying to cook food too fast and this was it.

This place is a bit off the Interstate but so worth it! Our breakfast was yummy, service was good, and the locals were so nice. It was great to connect with folks rather than just being another customer. We will definitely eat here again anytime we are in the area.
