Bustling, unpretentious counter serve preparing heaping hot or cold subs, plus salads & fries.

On our way back to the ILM airport, we stopped in and ordered a cheesesteak and the Turkey-N-Stuff. WOW — both were excellent! We always make sure to get our fill of Philly, NJ, and DE pizza, steaks, and hoagies before heading back to Florida, and this was the best cheesesteak we had on the trip! We’ll definitely be back.

This was only my second time here, but we placed an order for a cheese steak supremo and the Marcello’s way at 1:23 pm. After 30 minutes and other’s who ordered after us were served, I went up to the counter to see what the issue was. They stated it was coming and ran over to the line and put together the order. The Marcello’s way very good, but the supremo was not what I expected. The meat was warm, but the rest (bread, rabe, and provolone) was cold. If it is supposed to be that way then fine, but I am used to the cheese and meat melted together then placed on the roll. 30 minutes for two cheese steaks, on the later side of a Tuesday lunch, is not ideal for most people on lunch break.

I stopped by for late lunch. Had the GIgi’s 12 inch sandwich. It was delicious.Flavors blended together to create an amazing sandwich. I added jalapeño chips with it, however u can also add a hot long john pepper if u want. Other 2 people with me orderd cheese steak sandwich and spicy chicken cutlet sandwich. The portions were very generous. All 3 of us packed half a sandwich to go !! Will definitely stop by again if I am driving through the area. Oh, BTW they have free pickles, bananas peppers next to the napkins.

I have been going here for over 5 years. Today was my first time ever being dissatisfied. The steak was horrible. It was tough to chew! You can definitely tell it was a different grade of meat! I thought it was just me until I looked over at my husband and he gave me a look that said not good! We could not finish half of the steak, that’s how tough it was! I didn’t want to say anything to the owner because he had other customers there! It was a loss of $32.00 ! Well it was nice going there for 5 years!

One of the best sandwich shops in Delaware. Worth the wait and the price. Don’t like it? Go to Wawa.

My party ordered about 5 subs online. When we arrived there was a small line and other people waiting for their orders. The place is decent sized and has plenty of seating. This was on a Sunday so they had some NFL playoff games on the TV which i appreciated. The subs they made us were fantastic. By that is mean they tasted great and were assembled the way I like it, tight and not overflowing over the top of the roll. I had the Italian and it was in the top 3 ive had in the tri state area. My wife had a chicken cutlet sub and she raved about it. It was crisp, not to thin and not lost in its breading. My only complaint is that I live 25 minutes away.

Coworker recommended this place and the food is delicious. We work in the area every Wednesday and stop in for lunch. Cheesesteaks are fantastic. GiGi’s chicken cutlet is out of this world. Also, recommend the gravy fries. My coworker loves the Paisano. There isn’t another sandwich shop in Delaware or Maryland that comes close to this place.

I went there SAt 2/28/26 and got 2 medium turkey n stuffing subs. YUK double YUK no meat all stuffing.
I was a friend of the owners father for many years, so for that reason and for the fact that the Italian subs are the best around, I often go there.
But if you want to throw away $30 with tip, buy two of those turkey n stuffing subs, NO MEAT!!! Where was the meat?.
Since I’m on SS $30 bucks is a lot of money for dinner and then have to throw it in the trash can.
Not sure when I’ll be going back, I have a bad taste in my mouth.

Ioannoni’s Sub Shop has officially earned my vote for serving up the best Italian sub in the area. I recently placed a call-in order, and the overall experience, from placing the order to the first bite was exceptional.
The Italian sub itself was truly outstanding. The flavor profile was rich and authentic, packed with premium meats and cheeses. While the bread was perhaps a little tougher than I typically prefer, this small critique was instantly forgotten because of the generous amount of oil (which I loved!) that perfectly saturated the fillings and compensated for the crust. It was a messy, delicious masterpiece.
Beyond the food, the service was flawless. The girls at the counter were incredibly efficient and located my order immediately. What truly impressed me was the precision: I was told to pick up at 12:05 PM, and the sub was literally ready and waiting at 12:05 PM. Perfect execution.
The shop itself is also welcoming, with a surprisingly spacious interior that makes waiting comfortable. Ioannoni’s clearly prioritizes efficiency and quality. Highly recommend!

Ioannoni’s has been a new castle staple for decades! It’s my first time back since March of 2020 and the food just keeps getting better! Ordered the roast pork and cheese (sesame bun). Talk about a phenomenal sandwich. The staff was very friendly. There were a few ppl in line picking up orders but it went really quick. The store was very clean. Will always visit when back in my old hometown!
