What a great night. A group of 9 primary school friends enjoyed a banquet. There were a variety of delicious dishes tasted.
The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived but quickly filled with large groups and couples.
This restaurant has larger tables and a private room for those larger family gatherings. The service is quick and efficient. The teapot was refilled a number of times.
Delicious food was on offer, with the entree consisting of prawns, calamari and chicken. Mains served were vegetable noodles, tofu bok chop, steamed fish, chicken fungi, sizzling beef… (sorry I didn’t pay much attention to the meny description). Finally, the food for the evening was capped off with icecream sego. Did it end there, no. Lots of laughter over a number of pots of tea tounded out a joyful evening..

I went there for a dimsum lunch on saturday. I haven’t been there in a few years and wanted to see if their quality remained the same. The service was fine and the atmosphere was ok for a quiet meal.
As fried dimsum, we got poulet croustillant, fried shrimps, chicken hakkien and charsiu. The charsiu was mid, the poulet croustillant was the only fried dish that was good, but the hakkien and shrimp were not up to our taste. It lacked seasoning, it was stale and it was just disappointing. I could feel the taste of old oil and it had a slight “spoiled” aftertaste to it.
As steamed dimsum, the only good dish was the porc siumai. The crab pao is not worth it, the piment farci skin was overcooked, the fish filling had a weird texture and taste. The other dumplings were ok-ish. I wish there was a larger variety like before, but the quality has definitely tanked.
For a table for 2, we spent Rs 1,750. Was it worth it ? No. I won’t go back there for dimsum.

Had a great experience at House of Canton today for Dim Sum (Sunday lunch) Brian was incredibly welcoming and went out of his way to find us a table even though we didn’t booked, which we really appreciated. The manager, Kevin was friendly, calm, and professional while managing phone calls, bookings, and payments all at the same time. The service made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. Highly recommend for both the atmosphere and the excellent staff!

My experience was enjoyable; the food was excellent, portion sizes were appropriate, and the service from the waitstaff was commendable. We did not have to wait long for our meals. I highly recommend giving it a try, although it is somewhat expensive.

Food was okay. The crevette croustillant was okay.The sizzling calamari black beans was not sizzling as it should have been. The lamb dish was flavourful. Low on staff. We got our starters and our main course altogether. Nice decors. Parking facility.

The food quality and service has really gone down. Came in for dinner and the food just wasn’t as good as what it used to be. Regarding service, an elderly lady in glasses serving was the sweetest staff there whilst her colleagues were not the nicest!

Considering that you are on Mauritius, the this is the best Dim sum restaurant around. It is not exactly like in Asia but it is a nice version of it.
It is recommended to book a table on the weekends.

Amazing place for diner !! Took a mixed platter of 3 choices (roast duck,crispy chicken and pork) and special fried noodles (altogether 8/10)..a bit noisy but that’s a good sign.. customer service and welcome (9/10)..value for money (9/10). I strongly recommend and will surely revert back !
