Stopped in here while visiting Hannibal and looking for a sit-down meal that wasn’t fast food—and I’m glad we did. The food was solid. Not gourmet by any means, but definitely good for being out of town and not really knowing the local food scene. Let’s just say it beat going to the Burger King next door by a long shot.
The service was friendly and efficient. We were seated quickly, but not long after we arrived, the place filled up fast and a wait line started forming. That tells you something right there—it’s clearly a local favorite, especially for breakfast. The portions were generous, prices were fair, and everything came out hot and fresh.
The inside had that classic Midwest diner feel—nothing fancy, just comfortable and familiar. The crowd seemed like a mix of locals and travelers, and the staff handled the rush well. From what I gathered (and overheard), the cinnamon rolls and biscuits & gravy are fan favorites. I didn’t try them this time, but they looked great coming out of the kitchen.
Would I go back? Yeah, if I’m in the area again, I’d return. That said, I’d also be open to trying something new nearby just to explore a bit. But if you want a straightforward, reliable meal with no surprises and solid service, Country Kitchen does the job just fine.

Needed a good breakfast before heading on to my next destination. So glad I stopped. The staff was incredibly sweet and absolutely on top of it. The bacon was amazing and cooked perfectly. The waffle could have been a little crisper but the flavor was really good. The hot chocolate was not overwhelming sweet but very chocolaty. If I pass through again this will be a good spot to eat at.

I just ordered pancakes, hash browns, and bacon. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. I didn’t get the name of our waitress – she was very busy and apologetic. She made sure she took the time to get our orders right. Kudos to her! The atmosphere in the Country Kitchen was fabulous. Everyone was so friendly to each other – I loved it. If anyone is ever in Hannibal, MO stop at the Country Kitchen.

I go to country kitchen often. It’s always good food and great service. My only complaint is they have not done any updates in years. The seats they have are the same booths and tables they had 30 years ago. The booths are so broken down u get stable in the butt from springs. Spend a little money and update your seating.

We popped in on Thanksgiving day. We were passing through and figured nothing would be open. To our surprise, Country Kitchen was open . Great food, service was awesome, staff was so friendly and nice and prices were very affordable. We’ll definitely stop again next time we’re passing through!!!

Great food!! Definitely a popular local spot, it was difficult to find a spot to park! Overall, the meals were very filling but were not anything special quality wise. Good place to satisfy a craving and get a big meal. The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is homey and pleasant inside too. Glad I tried it!

We stopped in on our trip through Hannibal. We were seated promptly. Gave our drink order. Waitress took our food order and we received precisely what we ordered. The food was hot and steaming! My ribs were tender and delicious. My wife said her fried chicken was good. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Don’t look for fast food here. Food this good takes time to prepare correctly.

We were just passing through and came upon this place. Breakfast all day, along with a great menu to choose from. Very busy, parking lot was packed. No wait time, got seated right away. The Sweet Tea was AMAZING! We ordered two Country Skillets. My husband ordered an extra 4 sausage links, which were alittle burnt. Waitress & staff were friendly, the food came out quickly. Nice place. Comfortable & cozy atmosphere. I did need to use alot of ketchup on my potatoes in my skillet for they were not seasoned, the whole skillet was bland to me. Clean, well stocked restrooms.
