The food here can be a bit hit or miss, but the service is always friendly and welcoming. The portions are very generous, and the restaurant is consistently clean, which we really appreciate.

They have a big selection on the menu, so there’s plenty to choose from. Some dishes are really good, while others are just okay. But overall, it’s a solid spot with great service and good value for the portion sizes.

Very disappointed, service tonight was atrocious & the restaurant was not busy. We were celebrating my son’s birthday. We arrived at 730 & were seated & ordered within a reasonable time. They were out of all types of soft drinks so beverage options were extremely limited. We received drinks, soups, salads, & sushi fairly quickly. Watched chefs get done at other tables and completely disappear. We were left waiting for a chef for over an hour & had to ask if one was even coming at all, not a single chef was present on the floor. Finally after asking, the chef came at 8:45 to start cooking for our party of 8 that arrived at 7:30. Mind you, they close at 9pm so they brought our checks quickly & smuggly told us to go up front to pay even though we had just gotten our food. Waitress never came to table for refills, we had to ask. Akitas was always our “go to” place for hibachi & particularly birthday celebrations but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. The food was still ok but sadly, the experience will make my son’s birthday memorable for the wrong reasons. Extremely disappointed in a restaurant we always loved & enjoyed.

The food was great. My family had been searching for a Japanese Hibachi spot that served spicy rice. It was so good. The only issue we had was the server. She disappeared for a while and forgot the drinks we ordered. She never came back to check on us. We had to ask another server to find her.

My son requested we eat here and have a hibachi dinner for his birthday. The talent of our chef was unbelievable. juggling knives and food, playing with fire, it was an incredible delectable show. The food was more than we could eat, cooked to perfection, and the atmosphere was exciting and clean. The lighting was a bit low when the show started. It added to the atmosphere.

I’d never been to a hibachi before so I can’t judge it against any others, but I was certainly impressed with the chef’s skill.

Visited on MLK Day with a party of 3 and had a very frustrating experience. We were initially told the wait would be 20-30 minutes, but after waiting over an hour with no updates or communication, we had to walk back inside ourselves to check on our table status.

Adding to the confusion, there was a discrepancy between what the Yelp app showed for wait times and what the staff actually told us. This lack of consistency made it even harder to plan our evening.

Beyond the excessive wait, several other issues made this visit particularly disappointing:
∙ Parking was extremely difficult
∙ The waiting area is far too small, especially for larger groups
∙ Staff was unwelcoming and rude throughout our interactions

Traveled from Florida specifically hoping to try this restaurant again, and were looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, the poor service, lack of communication, and overall treatment we received means we won’t be returning.

With better communication about realistic wait times and more attentive service, this could have been salvaged. As it stands, I can’t recommend this location to others.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

My first time eating here was horrible, and unfortunately my second visit wasn’t any better. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all — it was almost empty — yet the service (cook) and food quality were still disappointing. Portion size was great but the cook seemed to be having a bad day, and it definitely showed in the meal. Overall, not a good experience. Got alot

They gave me food with rotten, slimy lettuce in it Thursday. I was going to give it another shot, but the hours on the door were wrong. They stopped seating at 8:30. Hostess was lackluster and tried to deter me from being seated. It worked. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Nina and the entire staff go above and beyond.
They work well together, resembling more of a family.
My rating is 4 stars overall simply because I would like a bigger bar area or more sushi counters to dine at.
Other than that I have nothing bad to say.

Service was HORRIBLE. We had to find the waitress to ask for silverware, plates for the shared appetizer, refills, and check.
Food was average in taste and no longer hot once brought to the table. The women’s restroom was dirty. The hallway to the restrooms was blocked by food boxes and mop buckets.
The restrooms could not be accessed by wheelchair due to the clutter in the hall.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.if anyone in your party is handicapped, I would avoid at all costs.
