With the wife at her company party, I took the kids to try the “neighborhood legend.”
• The Wait: A solid 30-minute wait, but the nice decor and beautiful plating made it easier.
• The Food: * Chicken Karaage: Not the crunchiest, but incredibly tender and flavorful.
• Creamy Salmon Oshi: Got a thumbs up from my daughter (the toughest critic!), so it’s definitely a winner.
• Nigiri Sashimi: Fresh fish, but the rice was a bit too firm for my liking.
• Verdict: Great vibes and solid food. It barely scrapes a 4-star rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐, but we left happy!

Had a birthday dinner with the family and it was awesome. We only waited about 15 minutes even though it was super busy. Tried a bunch of dishes — chirashi don, BBQ ika, prawn tempura, karaage don, jalapeño scallop roll, beef oshi, hotate oshi, and the deluxe nigiri with beef udon. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Great spot if you’re into Japanese food.

Previous Dinning experiences have been good but picked up an order to go and noticed my beef roll is not a beef roll. Unsure what the roll is?

This is one of my favourite places for Japanese food in Coquitlam. It is a cozy and decent restaurant. The food is always high quality and the combo selections are pretty good. I had a lunch gathering with a few friends that we haven’t seen in a long long time, so we stayed there longer than usual without realizing. The servers didn’t force us out even though the place was very busy, and they were always polite and kind to us.

We came here as a group for lunch to celebrate. The food is amazing! Everything we had. There were 7 of us today and the menu is great because it has a huge variety. I was surprised by how large the portions were and still retain such great quality. The fish was fresh and perfect! The “bento” boxes or the combination items for lunch that my friends got were great because it comes with so much variety of food. I would definitely come here again.

Love this spot. When I visit Coquitlam I come here when I can. My personal favourite pork katsu in metro Vancouver. Pictured is the katsu combo.

Hotate Motoyaki (Clam) is soooooo good! Love the combination of creamy tender citrus!
Koroke (Fried Pumpkin) is delicious!
Creamy Spicy Udon is ok. Compared to the two above, this is not as fancy. A little bland. It’s good that it’s actually not spicy.

I enjoyed the combo with beef udon, assorted Nigiri, and 3 piece tempura. The beef udon was a good size and had good flavor. My sister had the combo with udon, chicken karaage, osho, and seaweed salad and enjoyed it. Would be interested in coming back to try other combos. Service was okay.
