we were in the area and the menu looked good so we popped in for lunch. Leon, our server, was super friendly and did a great job of answering all of our questions and made some solid recommendations.
we tried the drunken deviled eggs, the biscuits, the table side hot chicken, and the farmer’s salad. all of it was delicious and we were really impressed with every single item we ordered. for dessert, we had an espresso and a peach cobbler. it was amazing!

we’re excited to come back and try some other items!

Highly recommend. Hands down, the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever eaten. My husband ordered the spare ribs with an old fashioned. I got the siren drink and it’s well worth it. Both drinks were great and the food was top tier quality. Fresh, vibrant, mouthwatering flavor. We had an appetizer as well but I’m forgetting the name. It’s pictured here.

The location is clean, open, airy. We went for lunch and it was light but not too bright or hot, as it can sometimes get in Miami. The decor is wholesome and homey, makes you feel like you’re visiting that cool aunt with lots of fine China and dainty knickknacks scattered about.

The service was excellent and everyone working here seemed friendly and down to earth. My husband and I can’t wait to go back and try something new.

Sunday brunch with family. Went around 10:30 and it was empty. Very clean and nice atmosphere with decor.

Service was good, timely and pleasant.

Food was fair, biscuits were good, fried chicken was dry and salty, scrambled eggs had an off taste. Mac and cheese were good as well as bacon.

Root & Bone is a true gem! This charming spot serves up mouthwatering Southern comfort food with a twist. From the moment we walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made us feel right at home.

The menu boasts creative takes on classic dishes, and every bite is a flavor explosion. Don’t miss the fried chicken, shrimp and grits, or the decadent mac and cheese!

What truly sets Root & Bone apart is the attention to detail and love poured into every aspect, from the decor to the presentation. It’s clear the team is passionate about serving up more than just a meal – they’re sharing a piece of their heart.

If you haven’t already, get yourself to Root & Bone and indulge in some serious comfort food bliss. Your taste buds will thank you!

First love that there’s free parking but the food and service is also amazing. The kids meals are reasonable priced and great portion for my big eaters. I had the chicken salad and it was so tasty and satisfying. Hubby loved his burger and wine and the deviled eggs were ordered twice. Granted it was half portion because we went during happy hour prices. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Staff was so friendly and sweet. It was freezing inside so we sat outside which was perfect. The inside is really nice though and when it’s too hot to sit outside the vibe inside will be great. We can’t wait to go back and try more dishes.

Very good location, busy but not too crazy. Restaurant decor was nice, server Ceasar was excellent. He made recommendations ans they were spot on, we had chicken and waffles ans the fried chicken sandwich with a side of mack and cheese to try. Everything was hot, fresh, seasoned well, and tasty. Definitely going back. Parking has a lower level area and street parking that can be hit and miss with open spots. I don’t give 5’s across the board often but this one was great.

Wonderful experience! We placed our order at the tail end of the 4-6pm happy hour, and the cocktails were refreshing and strong. The Shrimp & Grits were incredibly flavorful, while the Seared Florida Flounder was light yet filling. Our server was attentive, warm, and quick in taking our orders and getting our drinks/meals out to us. All in all, the vibe here is classy, welcoming, and eclectic, definitely spot-on for a more intimate Southern dining experience. Would recommend visiting for dates, drinks during their amazing happy hour promotion, or for anyone who wants some delicious Southern-style food.

Summer 2023 update: Tonight we went back to Root & Bone (late July), not very crowded Saturday evening. I had the wedge salad which was very good, medium sized portion and the corn soufflé which was rich and decadent! My husband got the bone in pork chop which was cooked beautifully on the outer portions but was RAW around the bone, we pointed this out to the waiter and they offered us something else but it was late and we were tired and service had been a bit slow so we just wanted to finish and go home. Even though they apologized about the raw pork I was surprised when they did not take it off the bill or at least reduce the bill in any way. But, live and learn.

This restaurant has improved a lot in the past year since I wrote a previous 3-star review so I thought I’d write an updated one.

Today a friend and I went for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The menu has finally changed although they’ve kept some good items like biscuits and shrimp and grits.
Tuesdays they have half price bottles of wine after 4pm which was nice! We got grandmas biscuits which were excellent, deviled eggs which were also good, the salmon main course which was very good and the shrimp and grits which was huge and delish. I have left overs for dinner!

They also have an amazing starter pumpkin soup that is amazing. Parking was easy because it was lunchtime, service was great and the seating outside was very nice and breezy. They have fans if it gets buggy. Will go back!

This was my first time coming to Root & Bone for brunch and I cannot put into words how amazing my experience was here. From the food to the service to the beautiful interior. I can rave about this place for days. Everything was ABSOLUTELY amazing! TJ was great in recommending the fried chicken and Liz was the best server , so attentive and helpful.
We’ll be back to try their happy hour this week!! HIGHLY recommend the Promise Ring cocktail.

Our sever was outstanding. He knows the menu and suggested the ribs. I had ribs and devil eggs which was delicious. The ribs were so tender you could use your fork. The were very tasteful. The eggs were outstanding OMG. My daughter had the shrimp and grits which she absolutely loved. The drinks are excellent. I recommend this place and I plan on going back.
