The beach is gorgeous and at the state park grounds, sandy. All around though lots of pretty stones and tons of beautiful uniquely formed driftwood. The windmills are just down the shore. The park keeps it’s area clean. The fragrant air was delightful, unlike many other area beaches.
We were there after Labor Day so no food or anything available. Though large, clean restrooms are. There is a blue mat you can walk on to the beach. It’s easier than sand and also, I think, a wheelchair could get through.

Nice park and beach area. They have a bar and grill when you first go in to the lake area. You have to pay to park but it’s not that expensive. Really pretty beach area and they had life guards the day I was at beach but not sure if they are always present.

We went to Solé at Woodlawn Beach for the first time, and It was an overall good time. When arriving, there is someone in a booth that charges you to park, which was $7. The parking lot was decent size and Nicely paved but very crowded. There is a Yellow building, you cant miss that has Bathrooms in the middle, Event area, gift shop and also The Solé Bar and Grill at the back which played live music, had cornhole set up and some seats in the sand to really give you that beach feel where you can enjoy your Drinks and food. There was plenty of seating and also seats at the bar and the staff was very polite. There was also a small Merch set up of Buffalo jerseys and clothing which was cool and just had a great atmosphere.. Food was pricey and small portioned but that comes with the Location being right on beach. To access beach you can go either side of the yellow building, and they have walk pads down to help you get to the beach and also a Ramp on the one side.. The beach has A lot of Rules which can be a Hassle to some, so I’d recommend reading them before going. Which smoking, vaping, Dogs, and Alcohol I believe were all Not allowed and there are plenty of police around to enforce this. There was also quite a bit of Large dead fish on the Beach shore which is never a great View but it was an overall fun and cool place to go to if you have never. I Would recommend.

The spot itself is beautiful, & very close to downtown Buffalo (about 10-15 min drive). Huge parking lot as it is popular & can get very crowded. After walking down the boardwalk through a cool little nature walk, I emerged to find this vast stretch of beach that made me feel like I was in FL for a second. The sand near the entry is nicer, it gets rockier (with like microgravel & some small sticks) the closer you get to the shoreline. There were bathrooms & also an adult bar/grill with a sanded area roped off for those over 21 to drink & play games or sit & chat, before the boardwalk to the beach. On the beach was a tiki bar, playground, & volleyball nets (only vball was open/being used, probably due to covid-19 restrictions). There were lifeguard chairs, but none on duty at the time (also due to Covid I believe) but someone else said they’re on duty til 5pm. It was $7 to get in (State Park). The beach itself was very crowded & pretty loud (lots of people playing loud music, large families or groups, kids, etc.) so if you’re looking for relaxation or less people, try Sunset Bay, or one of the Niagara County beaches. But if you’re looking for a party spot, it’s definitely one. I didn’t swim while there, as the water was a bit cold, & some consider it to be dirty there, but a lot of people were swimming. There were a lot of boats pulled up in the water, too. A unique aspect of this beach is the presence of massive wind mills to the north along the shoreline. You are allowed to bring your own coolers & food onto the beach. People also had whatever floatation devices they wanted to use, no special rules there that I saw.

Love this natural walking and strolling beach with the windmills in the distance. We love collecting rocks and taking pictures there. Collecting sticks, driftwood, and seashells there plus trying to find new items that may have washed ashore. Always good to sit or lay around for a while.

Save your money for a better beach bar/restaurant. The food is expensive with very small portions. My son ordered watermelon and mozzarella sticks. It was literally 6 small cubes of melon and 3 mozz sticks and it cost $13. You have to order at a window and then they give you a number and call your number when the food is done and you have to go grab it yourself. Then they expect a tip? No.
The bathrooms are absolutely DISGUSTING! See pics for reference. EVERY SINGLE STALL was out of toilet paper. Every. Single. One. About the only thing this place has going for it is the corn hole area. I absolutely would never come back.

This place is literally the worst beach in the United States. Granted, I haven’t been to every single beach, but it would be difficult to imagine worse. For the uninitiated, this place is a STATE park in NY, which means, of course, it has 1 billion rules and, of course, charges a fee to get in. Aside from all that, this July weekend, they had ONE lifeguard present for the entire place on a premium day! Don’t forget that people will smoke in your face even though smoking is against the rules. Oh, and you’ll get the one guy with a megaphone yelling at you if you put your kids on your shoulders. Oh, and there USED to have a playground, but that was too fun, so they ripped that out. The absolute worst part, though, despite all of those mentioned unpleasantries, is that the water is GROSS. My entire family had to take showers after because we had algae and rocks covering our bodies. New York is already a shameful place to live, and Woodlawn Beach is the embodiment of this soulless wasteland we call New York State.

Beach was very busy great summer day. Beach needs to be combed and trash was visible in many places. Great views of kite boarders.
