Super delicious! Everything was hot and fresh and the staff was super friendly. The queso is absolutely phenomenal. Probably my new favorite Mexican place. So good! I had a hard time picking what i wanted everything looked amazing. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu.

Overall not a bad place. I have been coming here and doing takeouts for a while now.
Food is pretty good; your standard run of the mill TexMex. It’s not authentic by any means.
Service is subpar, at best. The people are nice, but the service itself is not about how nice they are. When we eat in, the wait staff generally makes us do exactly that- wait. For carry out, the curbside is a myth. They don’t have it. They require you to come inside to get your food. I don’t usually tip when that happens. If you want a tip, do something tip-worthy.
Atmosohere is exactly what you think of with a TexMex place. It’s not over the top with blaring Mexican music, but it most definitely feels like you stepped into a restaurant in Mexico. The only complaint I have is that the people working there seem like they’re plotting against you. The guys who either own it or manage it just stand off to the side and look at you like you just asked for their daughter to dance. It’s a weird vibe. Most people are generally nice though.

Edit: My review is in full below. I never said when the positive reviews for free food were left – I simply said don’t believe all of them. This restaurant admits below in writing to manipulation of reviews and average rating by offering free food for a five star review in the past, not an honest review, a five star review. If you leave an honest review of anything less than five stars, they’ll bribe you with free food if you contact them to take it down or change it. Here’s what management says in case they try to change it:

“Hi Bowman Family!

We do not exchange food for five-star reviews. That promotion ended over 8 months ago.

We began charging for chips and salsa refills to offset rising food costs rather than increasing menu prices across the board.”

Review manipulation such as this violates Google’s terms and conditions (as well as most other sites like Yelp, etc ). ADDITIONALLY, just because it’s no longer a “promotion” to get free food for a five star review, it still happens.

As for charging for refills of chips and salsa – when enough people don’t order more chips and salsa, you’re going to be forced to raise prices anyway! The real reason chip and salsa refills now cost is due to POOR MANAGEMENT AND POOR DECISIONS. Evidenced simply by not all Mexican restaurants charge for refills, nor do their portions shrink.

The real issue here is this restaurant is being run into the ground at the expense of those still patronizing. This place used to be wonderful. Now it’s just terrible.

AVOID.

Full initial review:

Don’t believe all the five-star reviews – they’re being left in exchange for free cheese dip.

Dinner on 2-17-26 was our last dinner here ever. Terrible service, incredibly small portions, now they charge for chip and salsa refills. New management in last year is a complete failure. Avoid this restaurant. Not busy at all, not a surprise. If rock bottom has a basement, they’ve reached it.

Edit – this restaurant now charges for chips and salsa refills but the initial basket is small and there is no consideration for how many people are at the table when they bring the initial basket. A family of four or five will get the same amount as a party of two. Then, they charge for more. They will bribe you with free cheese dip for a good review. Additionally, although they state the portion size has not changed, it has consistently gotten smaller over the last year – and in the last month has dropped dramatically. Here is my initial review, edited as it had been hidden for some reason:

Our family has been dining here for over 15 years. It has been one of our favorite places to visit in the past. Over the past year or so however, the quality and portion size has dropped significantly. On a recent visit (January 2026) the service and food were so poor that we have finally decided to move on and find a different “go to” Mexican place. The portions have dropped off significantly as mentioned, the $8 guacamole size is now so small it’s actually feels as though you’re being robbed, the service was absolutely abhorrent and they’re stingy with chips and salsa. There are MUCH better options for our hard earned dollars in this economy. The new dessert display was not refrigerated and they served directly from it, the customer that ordered it who was seated directly behind us complained and the server said “that’s the way we do it”. Everything was so bad we actually asked if there had been a recent change in ownership. It was a sad, disappointing dinner.

Always a goto spot for the seafood soup. The staff is accommodating and the space is clean. Parking is ample and everyone is always upbeat. Got the seafood soup and the carnitas this go around. Everything hit the spot.

We’ve loved this place for years and always grab their cheese dip for parties. We usually order the large and it’s always been plenty, but our recent pickup was half the usual size with a barely filled bag of chips. We went back thinking it was the wrong order, but were told this is the new large—though it’s the same size as the old small. Just sharing so others aren’t caught off guard .

Update: After speaking with Ethan he explained the situation and the reasoning behind the change. Now I know I just need to order more, which is totally fine.

Highly recommend.

Went to Dos Reales in Overland Park and this was hands down one of the worst dining experiences l’ve had in a while. First off, the service was completely inattentive-it wasn’t even busy, yet our server was MIA. My husband had to literally get up and go looking for them, and we found them just chilling in the office talking to the manager. Like, hello? We’re still out here waiting at the table.
And don’t even get me started on the food… it was disgusting. The beans tasted old and sour, like they’d been sitting out way too long. Nothing on the plate was fresh or flavorful. Honestly felt like we were served leftovers from another table. Super disappointing all around. We won’t be back.

Wait staff was amazing, food was super solid, and the atmosphere was very casual and relaxing. Waiter joked with us about how to order in Spanish and was very attentive the whole time.
Got the big boy dish- which we still can’t pronounce – very tasty!

Service was nice, food was good. Vegetarian Fajitas were cooked to a perfect sizzle, and love that the fajita fixings come in a small taco shell bowl! More than ample portions, got a box for leftovers. Unfortunately the whole space smelled of musty water (like a bathroom), but maybe they just recently mopped with old water? Wasn’t too noticable after the aroma of our food filled our faces. Not very busy on a weeknight, overall a decent experience.
