Food is pretty good; your standard run of the mill TexMex. It’s not authentic by any means.
Service is subpar, at best. The people are nice, but the service itself is not about how nice they are. When we eat in, the wait staff generally makes us do exactly that- wait. For carry out, the curbside is a myth. They don’t have it. They require you to come inside to get your food. I don’t usually tip when that happens. If you want a tip, do something tip-worthy.
Atmosohere is exactly what you think of with a TexMex place. It’s not over the top with blaring Mexican music, but it most definitely feels like you stepped into a restaurant in Mexico. The only complaint I have is that the people working there seem like they’re plotting against you. The guys who either own it or manage it just stand off to the side and look at you like you just asked for their daughter to dance. It’s a weird vibe. Most people are generally nice though.
“Hi Bowman Family!
We do not exchange food for five-star reviews. That promotion ended over 8 months ago.
We began charging for chips and salsa refills to offset rising food costs rather than increasing menu prices across the board.”
Review manipulation such as this violates Google’s terms and conditions (as well as most other sites like Yelp, etc ). ADDITIONALLY, just because it’s no longer a “promotion” to get free food for a five star review, it still happens.
As for charging for refills of chips and salsa – when enough people don’t order more chips and salsa, you’re going to be forced to raise prices anyway! The real reason chip and salsa refills now cost is due to POOR MANAGEMENT AND POOR DECISIONS. Evidenced simply by not all Mexican restaurants charge for refills, nor do their portions shrink.
The real issue here is this restaurant is being run into the ground at the expense of those still patronizing. This place used to be wonderful. Now it’s just terrible.
AVOID.
Full initial review:
Don’t believe all the five-star reviews – they’re being left in exchange for free cheese dip.
Dinner on 2-17-26 was our last dinner here ever. Terrible service, incredibly small portions, now they charge for chip and salsa refills. New management in last year is a complete failure. Avoid this restaurant. Not busy at all, not a surprise. If rock bottom has a basement, they’ve reached it.
Our family has been dining here for over 15 years. It has been one of our favorite places to visit in the past. Over the past year or so however, the quality and portion size has dropped significantly. On a recent visit (January 2026) the service and food were so poor that we have finally decided to move on and find a different “go to” Mexican place. The portions have dropped off significantly as mentioned, the $8 guacamole size is now so small it’s actually feels as though you’re being robbed, the service was absolutely abhorrent and they’re stingy with chips and salsa. There are MUCH better options for our hard earned dollars in this economy. The new dessert display was not refrigerated and they served directly from it, the customer that ordered it who was seated directly behind us complained and the server said “that’s the way we do it”. Everything was so bad we actually asked if there had been a recent change in ownership. It was a sad, disappointing dinner.
Update: After speaking with Ethan he explained the situation and the reasoning behind the change. Now I know I just need to order more, which is totally fine.
Highly recommend.
And don’t even get me started on the food… it was disgusting. The beans tasted old and sour, like they’d been sitting out way too long. Nothing on the plate was fresh or flavorful. Honestly felt like we were served leftovers from another table. Super disappointing all around. We won’t be back.
Got the big boy dish- which we still can’t pronounce – very tasty!
