So there we were… walking five blocks in the rain like a low-budget survival documentary.
We finally spotted the glow of hope: Chick-fil-A. The drive-thru was open. The dining room was closed. And we stood there, soaked and desperate, debating whether walking up to a drive-thru would get us arrested or adopted.
With SIX minutes to close, these absolute legends took our order. No eye rolls. No “sorry, we’re closing.” Just pure kindness and waffle fries.
They fed three rain-drenched airport refugees and restored our faith in humanity.
10/10. Would dramatically trek through a rainstorm again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had the talk twice with the manager, and we had the chance to try many different sauces.
It was a great experience!
This restaurant is almost as big as a theme park and their customer services is even bigger! The dinning room is huge with plenty of seats and big open windows which allow the beautiful Florida sun shine in. There is also outside seating which even though it is close to the road, there were no noticeable noise coming from cars driving by.
I met with the manager (forgot her name but I do know she is from Venezuela) and she gave me a short history of that location. She informed me that the restaurant is the biggest in the nation so far and that it is getting ready for future developments from Universal Studios: EPIC. From the looks and size, it feels that they will have more than enough space to accommodate the EPIC customers.
She gave me a tour of the place and shared with me one piece of information that I was unaware of. Some of the tables at the locations were made by a person (not a company) and that if you look underneath these tables, you will find a short story behind the making of such. So, if you should visit this location, take a moment to look at the long, wooden tables. On top you will find a small plaque and underneath you will see the story.
Customer service here at the time of my visit was top notch. As soon as I entered I was warmly greeted and welcomed by the person at the register. I ordered my food and did not have to worry about if there would be any tables available to sit at because again, there is plenty. While at the table, they would stop by ever so often to ask me was I doing and if I needed a refill for my drink. I don’t think Disney or Universal does this at any of their restaurants.
If ever I am in the area again, I plan on returning and dining there.
