The overall experience was good. The restaurant was packed, which caused a delay in us getting seated. The owner was extremely kind and apologized for the wait. The drinks were good, appetizers was delicious, and the main course my cousins thought needed a little more flavor but over all the food was exceptional. We ordered class, oysters, artichoke, and octopus for appetizer. My cousins ordered the snapper, branding, and I had the halibut which was delicious. We ordered wagyu steak to go for my aunt. The dessert we ordered to go, all banana bread pudding which was also amazingly delicious.

This is the Cuzins in New Brunswick, not the one we go to in Marlboro. Place is fairly new and beautiful. Food was good, not great. We had the octopus and tuna tartar with clam chowders. The chowders ( one white, one red ) were excellent. The hostess was great. Our waitress left a lot to be desired. She served us ok but she seemed to not like her job. We would go back if in the neighborhood.

I finally got to try Cuzin’s and sadly, I was not impressed. The service was not to be desired at all! After being seated, our waitress did not come to greet us for at least 5 mins. When she finally came never gave her name, just straight to the point of taking out orders, no engagement whatsoever. I got the impression maybe she didn’t feel like being at work. We never got bread for the table, (had to ask) halfway through. Food was mediocre nothing to rave about. I tried the brussels sprouts they were good, just a little too sweet, oysters rockerfellers were delicious, but the crab cake was not worth the calories. There was barley crab in it, the filler and peppers over powered it, taking away from the crab. I tried the biscotti espresso martini didn’t taste like much. Maybe Cuzin’s a better choice for a drink at the bar for happy hour. Overall, I was definitely expecting more and wish I we had received that. Maybe I’ll try the other location and have better luck.

I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but what happened feels important to share.

While dining here on Valentines day, I became very sick after eating and ended up vomiting inside the restaurant. EMS was called and evaluated me on site, and I continued to vomit while they were there. It was scary and embarrassing, and I was honestly just trying to get through the moment.

At first, the staff seemed sympathetic, and some of my food was removed from the bill, which I appreciated. However, after EMS arrived, I later noticed the bill had been adjusted again and a 20% gratuity was added. Given the circumstances and the medical emergency unfolding, that felt wrong and really disappointing.

What was most upsetting was how the situation was handled afterward. Although a manager was initially present, once EMS arrived, management became difficult to find and no one checked in to see if I was okay. In a moment like that, a little care or concern would have meant a lot.

On top of that, two people dining with me witnessed a server drop raw food on the floor and then place it back in the food preparation/cooking bucket, which made the situation even more concerning in hindsight.

I’m sharing this not out of anger, but because food safety and how medical emergencies are handled matter. I hope this is taken seriously and leads to better care for future guests. This matter is being reported to food safety.

Came here with my boyfriend after the six flag trip. The food was very delicious. We had a dozen of oysters for starters, big and fresh. My boyfriend ordered the short rib pasta. I got the broiled seafood combo, all of the seafood was sweet and fresh. We both loved it! And on top of that, our server Luis was really sweet and considerate. Definitely will come back! We were sitting next to the steak fridge. Staring at the fridge full of meat makes me really want to try those dry aged steak next time

Charlie brings a special twist to a restaurant. Not only is the food amazing every time; but the staff and overall experience is inviting to say the least. Great job keeping it consistent and fresh all the time.

First and last time I visit this place. We went because of the beautiful pictures on the website and I thought my wife would enjoy the vibe. We had to wait 40 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation. When we were finally seated they put us in an elevator and brought us upstairs, which is not mentioned anywhere. All i can say its the opposite of downstairs with the ambiance of a low end diner. The only way it could go lower is to have seated us at a table with a pole between us. Considering the cost, the food was mediocre at best. The appertizes were ok but not worth the money. The halibut i had was just slightly warmer than room temperature and actually cool in some places. God only know how long it was sitting there. The service was ok, but definitely on the slow side. The worst part was the 2 groups sitting in the diner that were celebrating birthdays. The women were all dressed up and looking forward to enjoying the night out and unfortunately they were all jammed into a small space that looked nothing like what they were expecting. I felt terrible for them because nowadays its all about posting about your cool night out. Im sure the pictures of them having an overpriced dinner in a gloomy diner will not make any websites, just like the restaurant doesn’t mention it anywhere on their website. I won’t be going back but a word of caution to anyone who reads this, find someplace else that doesn’t feel like you are eating in a kitchen from a run down subsidized homeless shelter

This was our first time coming here and we came for my husband’s birthday and we loved it!!! The staff was very attentive and fast, the food and drinks were excellent. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the Branzino: the skin was breaded too much, so you couldn’t taste the skin, just the breading. Mike P was our waiter, and he went above and beyond with making sure we were doing ok and that everything came out ok. I highly recommend this place if you want to go to a nice, fancy dinner. I also recommend making a reservation.

One and Done – Disappointing Experience from Start to Finish

I was genuinely looking forward to dining at Cuzin’s for a special celebratory dinner, but unfortunately, the entire experience was a letdown. From the moment we arrived, things went downhill.

Parking: Before heading in, I asked the staff about parking on the street out front and was assured there was no need to worry about the meter. I double-checked to avoid any issues, but still came out to a $52 parking ticket. When I brought the ticket inside, the same staff member insisted that on Sundays the “app” says parking is free—clearly incorrect. The manager dismissed the issue, chalking it up to the employee being “new” and showed zero concern or accountability. I asked if anything could be done, like splitting the cost or offering a small gift card as a gesture, and was told “no” with a shrug. No empathy, no ownership, just indifference.

Appetizer: We asked about the portion size of the shrimp appetizer and were told it was a “good portion.” What arrived were three shrimp. I wouldn’t call that generous by any standard. Maybe my expectations were off, but that felt more like a sample than a starter.

Entrees: We ordered the paella and the stuffed flounder. Both dishes arrived lukewarm—not even hot. When we mentioned it, the staff gave a half-hearted apology with no offer to remake or even record the issue. The lobster mac and cheese that accompanied the meal was another letdown—maybe a 3.5 out of 10 at best.

Extras: We were told that water wouldn’t be charged, yet it showed up on the bill at $7. Dessert, which was supposed to be complimentary for the occasion, was also charged. When we brought this up, the server had no explanation and the charge remained.

The biggest disappointment wasn’t just the food or the misinformation—it was the complete lack of care from the staff and especially management. I was cut off repeatedly while trying to explain the issues and made to feel like a nuisance rather than a paying guest.

There are too many better dining options nearby-delivering both quality and professionalism. I won’t be returning to Cuzin’s, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable or respectful dining experience.

The entrées were bland. We ordered the branzino and red snapper. The drinks weren’t great either which really surprised us. I loved my creme brulee but my friend couldn’t even cut through the crostada so we sent it back. Also, the service started off great then our waitress disappeared repeatedly and a random server noticed us looking for her and decided to help us pay the check. Overall, it was a beautiful restaurant that I would only return to for dessert.
